Hi,
I manage to add links on wikipedia to my website.
One link over two weeks ago.
one link about one week ago
one link yesterday.

Will this make any different to my page rank, google rank and traffic ?
Other changes maybe ?

of course I dont know yet if the will stay but I think at least the first two links will stay there and hopefully all of them

As far as rank, you need to check to see if the links are DOFOLLOW or NoFollow. If they are DOFOLLOW then it could help a lot. As far as traffic is concerned, I guess you just have to wait and see how many people click on your links!

To be honest, I've never noticed any TREMENDOUS results from wikipedia. Some of my niche sites have had wikipedia links for months, and never really noticed anything tremendous happen as a result.

Wikipedia changed from dofollow to nofollow years ago, because of just this reason. I admittedly do have a link placed somewhere in the footer/reference notes of a Wikipedia page, but does it do me any good? Who knows, probably not, didn't hurt.

One thing I'll say though, is that wikipedia drives about 20-30 visitors/day to all of my niche sites, so the traffic is still worth it.

I tried to get on Wikipedia, but the self appointed editors invariably deleted any links within two days. They would then try and sneak their own junk in there. In my niche Wikipedia is the #1 result for the main keyword and a link would definitely be worth something for both SEO and traffic.

You will not get a search engine boost from it, but you will certainly get traffic. Try not to abuse it though. If you get flagged all of your links will be removed at once.

Wikipedia has a TON of Trust in Google's eyes (which is why they rank #1 for so many search terms) - so getting a link from Wikipedia is definitely worth the effort.

In some of my niches there are sites ranking in the top 3 with a hand-full of Wikipedia links and pretty much nothing else going for them.

You may not see an instant boost in your rankings and traffic - but if nothing else it will certainly help immunize your site from the big Penguin update that is supposed to be rolling out later this year.

The trick is keeping the link up - your competitors will delete your links whenever possible and replace them with their own.

Wikipedia implements the NoFollow tag, and so, no link juice that would increase your ranking on SERPs. However, your Wikipedia page has a greater chances of ranking well on SERPs. And hopefully, you'd get good traffic from it.

Wiki provides credible source of information to its visitors, but marketers are using it to upload their information so people from all over the world can access it. They are taking the advantage and use Wikipedia to advertise their business and to get traffic to their websites. SO THIS MEANS THAT IT REALLY WORKS!

If your post will be there in wikipedia then of course it will increase your website's PR. Dont bother if it is dofollow or nofollow but it has very high authority. So you'll definitely get benefits from that for sure.

  • As Wilkipedia offers nofollow links, it will not effect your ranking or PR because it will not passes any link juice to your website. But it can certainly increase the traffic your website get if people get attracted to your wikipedia page.

Wikipedia is one of the authority sites that Google looks at with high value. Getting a link from Wiki is difficult unless your website is legitimate. Thus, getting links from Wiki (creating contextual links from a mix of nofollow and dofollow) can help in getting better backlinks, traffic and better SERP rankings.

In my experience, I have not seen much of a rank improvement from acquiring Wikipedia links. That being said, I would be happy to gain a backlink from Wikipedia. Who knows, it could improve "trust"...

Forget about Dofollow or NOfollow. A link is a link and 100% DOfollow links can't possibly be any good. I doubt you will see a huge increase in just having those 2 links or whatever, but it can't possibly hurt your trust factor, can it?
