Hello, I will buy a domain this week to start to build a site this month, so I wonder how important is the age of a domain as ranking factor, what do you think?

It depends on the age; how old is it? I can see some weight if the domain is 5+ years. It also depends on what you use it for. I have a domain that is nearly 10 years old, it's not worth that much as it's just sitting there. I have another domain that is about 5 years old that is worth quite a lot. Difference; traffic and content.

age is part of the equation but focus on domain name and existing links.

If you can find a domain with a good backlink profile, which either won't be easy or won't be cheap, that is far more important than a domain that has been aged. An aged domain is definitely a factor in rankings, but a site with a good backlink profile will outrank a site with a poor backlink profile even if the latter domain is much older.
