Google authorship with websites in several niches

What do you guys think about google authorship? I guess it is another factor google looks at when ranking a page. But is it important if you want to "compete" for the #1 spot?

I have several amazon affiliate websites and they are not in the same niche. I am worried that my visitors will lose fate in me and my site when they see I have many different review sites. I don't want my websites to be connected in any way.

If google authorship is important I guess a solution might be to create an authorship for each niche... with the result of having a bunch of accounts and e-mails to keep track of.

Are you worrying about the users? I personally don't see it that way.
As long as you won't be interlinking these sites, you won't get any problem with google.

As I have understood it, google have or will give each author a rank. If you publish a lot of good articles you will get a better "Author Rank". To get the best "AR" it will be beneficial to connect all my sites/articles to one authorship. But then all my sites will be connected via google authorship.

So what's the problem, if they are all connected? And I really doubt any user would go THAT far to really study your backgrounds. Then to assume, hey, if that guy writes about motorcycling, he just can't be good at nutrition. Then they would reason: " F**************KKKKKK YOU - IM NOT SUBSCRIBING TO YOU MATE, YOU ARE A WHHH****E!!!!! " Is that what you think? :p

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't be too worried about it then.

If they are unrelated niches it shouldn't matter. Now if you are running a pbn you might want to ghostwrite on most of the sites except maybe the top one. Damn Google and their accountability goals hehehe It doesn't sound like you are linking the sites in any other way so yeah, I think you are good.

Of course... JMO *hiding from Mike Friedman*

Edit- Oh my bad you are worried about the users. Yeah, I don't think they care

The Google authorship attribute does not affect the rankings directly. The authorship attribute is used to help users distinguish between different authors when searching for information. As an example you might like articles by author X. You are searching for something such as "the loudest horn in the world". You scan the page and see the snippet of Mr.X at position 3. You have read articles by Mr.X in the past and recognize him as someone who is knowledgeable and explains information in an easy to understand manner. You will then click on Mr. X. That is all; it is to help you to choose the authors you want. If you’re listing does show with a snippet you can increase your ranking indirectly as research shows articles with a snippet are 150% more likely to be clicked. The increase in CTR is a Google ranking factor.

You're looking at this the wrong way. Google authorship is about linking good writers with good content. If you produce several, popular blogs then that's a good thing.

I write about lots of niches and it doesn't bother me if readers can see it. To me it shows authority. If you're looking for a decent product review, wouldn't you trust an author/editor who's been writing for years on 100s of blogs?

I have been experimenting with Google Authorship and I think there may be more than meets the eye (isn't there always with Google?)
