Hey guys hope your all doing well!
I have a few questions related to keyword research and niches, i know many of you guys and girls will have a good amount of knowledge in this area so im hoping you can show me the ropes

I'm fairly new to keyword research and SEO seeing as before i was focusing on other methods of traffic.
I want to start a business in a niche that i have a passion for. Ill just give you a short list of a couple now -
- bodybuilding/weightlifting/mens fitness
- internet marketing/entrepreneurs/working from home
- football/betting tips
As you can see these are competitive niches, and ive been using Market Samarai to do my research, watched a few videos and they make it seem so simple to find a golden keyword but i cant seem to find one!

I have found medium competition keywords with sites like youtube and yahoo answers ranking in the top 10. If i have a domain that is well related to the keyword are youtube and yahoo answers easy to overtake ?

I have picked up some good SEO knowledge over the past few months having taken some courses. Is it worth targettimg these niches in the search engines with medium like competition ? Of course i could go after long tail keywords too.

What sort of time frame would i be looking at for reaching the top 10, obviously i wont be directly targetting 'get ripped or 'get rich', i can easily find medium competition keywords.

I hope someone can give me some help and advice here,

Nathan

For 1 all of those niches are soooo far apart that the advice is way to far spread to actually give you any advice...You need to pick one and stick with it..

Pick one.. then ask for advice.

In those niches, it's hard to find the Holy Grail
I would advice you to use Long Tail Pro along with market samurai. It's a program based on google Adwords keyword Tool but it offers better and more results.

When it comes to competitive niches, one of the secrets is to target lots of smaller keywords

I agree, you're in the wrong niches.

Guess what? I love bodybuilding too. And making money online, although I hate sports.

But the point is, I would never in my life try to monetize either one of those niches, because I'd rather develop a new brand of soda and compete against coke and pepsi.

I'm going to give you a secret that I never want you to forget.

We are transforming from an "information age" to an "innovation age" and if you don't understand how to make that transition, you will be stuck in the dark like many folks on this forum.

You need to be different. You need to be weird. You need to not follow or even think about doing anything that anyone else is doing. And you need to take this information seriously.

We are shifting from a world where creative, systematic, right brained people are getting rich, and all the sequential, information based thinkers are becoming poor. I know this because I have always been a dominant right brained thinker, I am a fvcked up person, but I have never had problems making money.

This is an article I bookmarked a long time ago, when I was trying to figure out why there are so many idiots on this forum, and in life in general. But I identified closely with it because its exactly how I think. I don't get a long with conventional thinking, I don't like your average person, I don't typically like average things. If you can truely break the chains of whats normal, whats expected, what you think you should do, you will break from a life destined to poverty.

Here is a story for some motivation:
