    Target the low hanging fruit, IMO. Instead of competing for the keyword with 1,000 searches, compete for 10 with 100 searches each. They're almost always cheaper. (Plus, you can better target your ads if you're going after very specific keywords.)

        The longer the phrase, generally the cheaper the cost. Look for longtails that are buyer oriented.

      Hy,

      My experience in europe market is that;

      Low hanging 3 phrase cheap keywords with around 50-300 saerch volume,would be high target-but google planner shows you most this;

      No data/no klicks search volume is too less or something.

      You will get when you have 10 3 phrase keywords each with 100 search volume in month,with luck you will get 1 klick per day......

      One click per day is not enough to make good money from adwords.
      And google will pause or not blend in your ad campaign, you are not effective for google adwords.........so you must pay google good for that to get a good number of clicks every day.

    I would suggest using broad with the "+" modifier. This way you don't have to put in every combination of exact and phrase keywords, and it will narrow down the keywords so they're more targeted. Aside from that, I would focus on making sure your ads and your landing pages are keyword targeted to boost your quality score.

    Instead of looking for cheap traffic, One should try restricting the campaign displaying ad for unnecessary keyword impressions.

    @Cheaper clicks
    They come with better quality scores. The quality score depends on number of metrics like ..
    • Your keyword's expected clickthrough rate (CTR): The expected CTR is based in part on the keyword's past CTR, or how often that keyword led to clicks on your ad
    • Your display URL's past CTR: How often you received clicks with your display URL
    • Your account history: The overall CTR of all the ads and keywords in your account
    • The quality of your landing page: How relevant, transparent, and easy-to-navigate your page is
    • Your keyword/ad relevance: How relevant your keyword is to your ads
    • Your keyword/search relevance: How relevant your keyword is to what a customer searches for
    • Geographic performance: How successful your account has been in the regions you're targeting
    • Your ad's performance on a site: How well your ad's been doing on this and similar sites (if you're targeting the Display Network)
    • Your targeted devices: How well your ads have been performing on different types of devices, like desktops/laptops, mobile devices, and tablets - you get different Quality Scores for different types of devices

    The big chunk of weightage goes towards click through rate. Which depends on how relevant is the ad copy towards a specific query!

    So, there are lot of things to optimize, Good luck!

    You'd need to use Google Keyword Planner for that.
    All the metrics and their explanations are in there.
    It's also important to understand how ad auctions work, there is a nice little video that explains that:
