I want a double listing. My homepage is on page 1, but my second page is on page 13.

I want the coveted double listing on Google. The problem is, the second page that I want to optimize for is on page 13. Does anyone know what I could do to improve my ranking? Thanks.

Have you tried building links? Lol, but seriously, usually you just need more links.

Crosslink between the homepage and the second page, like an internal reciprocal link. Then just start pumping links into the second page. If you can raise that up to get on the first page, then you'll get that indent.

I created more backlinks with the anchor text that I want. Still no double listing.

Make your site too specific, have inbound links and continue adding contents to your site.

You need to use the same tricks that got your other page to page one. However, because you are trying to get another page to the top then you will have to build even more links and make sure the content of your site is scoring well for relevancy.

Your backlinks, are they being placed on authority sites or did you buy them from some two-bit traffic peddler who probably swindled you?

I didn't buy them. I built them myself from quality PR sites.

Make sure you're using relevant anchor text in your incoming links (links from the quality sites to your site). The term you want to rank for should be used as the anchor text and the landing page should be optimized for that same term (i.e. it should be in the title tag, an h1 tag, anchor text in a couple of internal and external links, and sprinkled a bit throughout the content on the landing page).

Google bot assumes that the gist of the page can be understood by what's talked about first on that page. Your target keyword text should appear a few times in the first 100 words that the search engine spider sees. This could pose a problem if you use a left navigation bar (because the spider will index that entire bar before getting to your content). There are ways around this though. PM me or look for an SEO expert to help you out.

I get double links all the time with no backlinks, or links of any kind. Just optimize both pages for the same keyword phrase and you'll get your double link. Don't duplicate the content though.. have very unique content on both pages, but make sure you have the same keyword phrase plugged on both pages.

Me too. People don't even begin to realize the importance of internal SEO.

Yes that's the way to do it.

I've also found that it does help if you add a link from one post to the other as well (anchored with the keyword of course).

How many links did you add? How many backlinks total for your site?
