Duplicate title and description in WMT - All dups have "?mobify=0" extension!?...

by 5 comments
WMT shows 90 duplicate description and 70 duplicate title tag. But the problem is that the duplicate are not actually a different page. They all have the .mobify extension which I assume has something to do with enabling a site to be viewed on Mobile phones

Here are few examples:

how-does-facebook-make-money/
/how-does-facebook-make-money/?mobify=0

/10-easy-ways-to-get-more-page-views-for-your-blogwebsite/
/10-easy-ways-to-get-more-page-views-for-your-blogwebsite/?mobify=0

Does anyone know how this can be fixed. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

Can't you just request these pages be de-indexed?

The problem is that there are so many of them, virtually for every page there is one with that extension.

And how would I request to index these pages?...

    Thanks.

    2 options:

    1. Robots.txt file
    Disallow */?mobify

    2. Google webmasters tools
Click parameters and add mobify as the parameter

    Thanks for the suggestions Michael.

I actually did the second one today. It was already added as a parameter, so I went ahead and marked it as one that doesn't change the content of the page. Do you think that should do it?...

    Thanks again.

You will need to monitor this, check in the Google index in a weeks time to make sure the numbers are decreasing as these are just SUGGESTIONS to Google.
