PageRank went to n/a as soon as I bought 2 blogs, what can I do?

Hi all, I bought two blogs.
omnitechnews.net
in Oct. 2012

webdesignmash.com
in Nov. 2012

within a few months of buying them, the PageRank went from 4 to n/a on each. The first one had been sitting idle for months. I just began making new posts. The second was going fine. I didn't post as often, but I was still updating it. I didn't do any backlinking or anything (that I'm aware of) which could have hurt the PageRank.
Can anyone help me here? I'd like to sell the sites for close to what I paid for them, but I don't think they're work much in this condition. What can I do?
Please help.

Somehow both of your homepages are deindexed, thus the PR n/a, but plenty of inner pages still show up with PR. Odd stuff.

This is some auto blog site right or do you syndicate all your website content yourself to dozens of web sites? Good chance it's a matter of waiting before the rest of the site will be deindexed as well.

I would remove all the content, upload x 100% unique written articles and wait it out.

That's the strange thing, it's 100% unique. This isn't some grey/black hat deal here, they are two legit blog sites that have been going for years. Not autoblogs, totally original posts.

Dude go fool someone else okay.

Nothing on that whole ******* site of yours is original, every single sentence shows up at dozens of other sites.

That's not at all right, I've written some of the more recent articles myself. I'm not trying to fool anyone, I'm trying to get some honest answers here. These are blogs that have been up for years written by enthusiasts in either field.

Maybe the reason it seems like there are copies is because the first few sentences before the break appear on other sites that aggregate web design sites. Some articles that were submitted to me might have been submitted to multiple sites. If that's the case, I'll pull the ones I can. How did you determine there were copies? In any case, the vast majority of the content is original.

        @luvboa
I'm not sure which site you're referring to, there are two in question, but the guys I bought either from were not website flippers. These were their only blogs. I checked them both out, they were just ordinary guys unloading a site they had worked on for years.

As for deleting all the content, on webdesign mash I'm still getting 35,000 hits per month. omnitechnews is getting around 8,000. If I delete everything that's gone. The interior pages are still bringing in visitors, it's only the home page that has lost the PageRank. Some of the inner pages still have a rank of 0-3.

Anyway, does anyone have any advice for how to get the homepage PageRank back? Or should I just dump the sites for what I can get for them before they get worse?

Ya... I guess Niko is right. Put all new content on your website. Unique content will give a good chance for your website to rank and then build backlinks to your blogs.

I think you just bought from a real scammy seller, who owned all the high PR links that were pointing to the site. As soon as he sold it, he immediately removed all the links pointing to it.

There was a PR update last month, (or was it early this month?) so yeah ... there you go

And as Niko mentioned, he lied to you about original content.

Maybe you should start to read before making such comment, how the hell can the PR be fake if the inner pages still show PR and while the site: command shows that the homepage is deindexed, geez.

@OP: Just put any random sentence from the site inside quotes "", whether it's on page 1 or page 17 on your site, then Google it and you'll see it show up everywhere.

Check out this site btw: http://www.tuicool.com/articles/3i22iy , he seems to be scraping your whole site.

Yes, but as I said most of those are just taking the first paragraph. I'll look more closely, but it looks like few articles are copied entirely elsewhere.
But, yikes! What do I do when someone is scraping my site like that?

Anyway, all the sites that are taking from my site, just a paragraph or in whole, are referencing my site. So at least there's that.

But I still don't understand why ONLY the home page on each has been deindexed.

For the person who asked why I'm worried about PageRank: because I want to sell the sites and they are significantly less valuable with no PageRank. Also people pay to have links put on the site, but I've already had two clients ask that their links be removed because it was dragging them down.

You should file a DMCA or DCMA complaint with the hosting company and you can send something like the same to Google. Google about it and you'll find some more specific information as like what you have to put in the email and such.

That site looks Chinese, so I'm not sure how much good that's going to do if it's on a Chinese host.

Anyway, I still don't know how to get my PR back.

Fake PR is not faked by a 301. When people sell a site, they tout the
PR of the main page from domain.com. For some reason, people don't
give a hoot about checking other pages.

You fake the PR, looks like PR4, sell it, then pull the plug. Faking PR
of the "domain.com," has nothing to do with the PR of the inner
        pages.

Faking PR would could also lead to domain.com being deindexed,
or never having been indexed at all. Not being indexed can be
        a component of faking PR.

You get what you pay for. Why people keep buying this crap is
beyond me. It's a gamble. Why not go bet $2 on a horse?

It's not that hard, nor time consuming, to create a new site and
        increase the PR.

Getting re-indexed after being de-indexed requires somewhat a lot of time.

You have to somehow "prove" to Google that your site has quality content.

This is the problem with buying websites. You need to know why and how a site has x page rank and if there are enough quality back links to support the same. if there is, you should ask the seller how they were created and how long they would stay.

    Your problem could be

    A) Fake page rank (since the inner pages stills shows PR, it is unlikely) or a drop in PR due to the removal of backlinks by the seller.

    B) Google Penalty due to duplicate content / poor content / spammy content / spammy link building.

Make detailed checking, take corrective actions, file DCMA complaints to both hosts of copying sites as well as Google and finally make a reinclusion request stating all facts. Good luck!
