Advice for how to reinstate the old (high) Ad Quality Score for a keyword

Hi,

I had an ad up for a keyword which had an ad quality score of 7/10 and a position of #4 to #6. However, it only got a click through rate of 1% over 2 days and ~120 impressions, so Google has reduced the Ad quality score to 4/10, resulting in my ad dropping off from the first page of search results.

Is there any way that I can reinstate the ad quality score for this specific keyword without having to increase my bid? I'm afraid that increasing my bid won't help much since the ad quality score is so low.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Increasing bids does not increase QS. They are independent. The only thing increasing your bid does is get better position since ranking is your bid times your QS. But I don't suggest that unless your QS is 7 or more.

Two thirds of QS is CTR. Test different ads that get higher CTR. As your QS increases, ads will naturally move up the rankings for the same bid and your CPC may go down.
