Google WMT - Is Bot Traffic Included In My Traffic Graph? (picture)
- SEO |
I've been building lots of quality/relevant backlinks, targeting both my home page and sub pages on my site. I also noticed recently that a lot of my sub pages got indexed on page 1. Many of which show on page 1 now. But the content on those sub pages isn't optimized like the content on my home page. Meaning that the content is optimized more for search engines than users.
So when I look at my WMT graph, can this steep rise in traffic be from all my sub pages? Rather than my home page?
Or is it bot traffic?
Because my home page doesn't rank on page 1 for any keywords yet. But many of my sub pages do for their respected long tail keywords. And like I said, that content isn't conversion optimized.
But when I registered with WMT, for some reason I was under the impression that it only shows traffic going to your home page. Now it seems like that is wrong.
It seems like WMT tallys up traffic between all your sub pages AND home page, then combines that traffic into the 1 graph I'm looking at?
I have to account in someway for why my traffic has slowly been going up, but emails/calls have not.
And the only thing I can think of is the fact that my subpages are not user optimized like my home page is, and that most my traffic right now is coming from those pages.
Does this make sense?
