Dear Google Adsense Users,

Here is an update from seroundtable,

A WebmasterWorld thread has one webmaster claiming that Chrome 25.x and 26.x (beta) has a bug with their prefetching and prerendering techniques that can ultimately lead to your Google AdSense account being banned.

How so?

It seems that if your site uses the rel=next webmaster parameter, the Chrome prefetch technique will go to the next page and prefetch it. It will do so as long as it seems the rel=next and go on and on forever.

I never could understand why people use Adsense to make money online. To me, it looks spammy on a website and when I'm surfing the web, I close down websites with too many adverts. It doesn't appeal to me and I'm sure others feel the same.

There are easier methods like affiliate marketing, CPA and email marketing to make money.

    Just saying...

I can't understand why someone wouldn't want to convert content into money, it's practically free money, no brainer IMO.

I was looking at one of my best sites Google Analytics/Adsense earnings, YOY earnings have increased 4x with no new pages of content on the site.

Free recurring income is why I own websites, that's the ultimate goal (recurring income).

BTW, millions & millions of people don't have a problem clicking relevant Ads (they have nothing to lose).

No content is violating google adsense tos. You need content to put adsense ads.

Lol, I thought you know that if not I suppose all video sites will put up adsense. Anime sites will have adsense too if so.

I guess it's because I find it hard to promote something I really dislike. Who knows, maybe one day I might build an Adsense buisiness. We shall see...

As far as OP subject, I wouldn't worry about it, Google is smart enough to know real traffic page views.

If its a bug in Chrome, then I guess everyone is affected because Chrome is one of the top used web browsers and just about anyone can open your website in Chrome.
