Most definitely not a thing of the past. One of my sites made $2,000 last month. You only need 25 clicks a day to make $1,000, depending on the niche of course.

Find something that works and then scale, scale, scale. Shouldn't be hard if you make the effort. You could write 5 reviews a day, 5 times a week, and within a month have a site that has 100 reviews. Within a couple of months and with some backlinking, you should easily be making $1,000 a month from one site.

Its relatively easy to earn 1k , if your in a "buying" niche and offer great content the sky is the limit. I have had $250 days.

Agreed. I had a site making $500+, but it got hammered by Penguin last year. Most of that came from just one article that drove a lot of targeted traffic to Amazon. Working on making it back to that point with a new site...

It also helps to target less competitive keywords than "[product xyz] review." Comparisons are good, as there will be less "xyz vs abc" than "xyz review." And people looking for comparisons are definitely looking to buy.

$2k from just one site! Thats just amazing! By the way, this single site, how much traffic it gets everyday, and clicks to amazon. Also, whats the criteria you use to select products for review?

I get around 200-250 uniques a day. My CTR is poor, it's around 15%, but converts. High ticket items (above $500), good user reviews, a relatively low number for the "Bestsellers Rank."

It's just about the investment that you're prepared for. Good content ain't cheap and good link building is also not comparable to some Fiverr gig's. So it's safe to assume (in most cases) that you spend like $1k on content + linkbuilding to make $250/month on an Amazon site.
Not necessarily. As I said earlier, it's easy to write 5 reviews a day and have a 100 page site within a month. Linkbuilding doesn't have to cost more than $100. I always like to write the content myself, as I can control things as much as possible. If someone's new to Amazon or affiliate marketing, then I don't understand why they would want to pay for content. They can learn so much if they do everything themselves.

Imo IM is about the big money and that's only possible by scaling things big time, and you can only scale by outsourcing so the costs are what they are.

If you only focus on reviews for specific product types, yes then you'll be done for 100 bucks with the link building, but if you focus on the brand + keyword then there is a little bit more needed to break page one for all of them.

Most of my income comes from CJ.com. I don't like Amazon because they have short life tracking cookies. Not often people are impulse buyers on bigger, more expensive items. 1 day tracking is too short

A few of my students have been ranking their amazon sites quite well. I personally have moved on to network marketing and other venues. Nothing much has really changed, there is a great book called azon apocalypse that was written about this.
Its really about social networking these days!

I was using 1 theme that made me $200, then I changed theme and I was suddenly making $2,000. Seriously, the theme is completely irrelevant. No need to use an autoblog plugin either.

I was being sarcastic to make a point of just how irrelevant the theme is.

I used to make about $700+ before Penguin Update. I think to make $1000/month is not easy now.

Why would she go back and edit her earlier posts and then post the same original question that she was apparently shamed into editing? Spamtastic
