Question on moving domains

I just want to verify something with the community real quick. I had a site that I wrote some content for, it was a site I shared with my partner. We decided to split ways and some of that content I took down and published on my new site. It should get un-indexed and re-indexed on the new domain and the new domain will be recognized as the initial index (source) correct?

If you still have access to the old domain, do some redirects from the old site to new site for the articles in question. After a while the old pages will drop away and your new one will be indexed with the content. Have I understood your question correctly?

You should do 301 redirect from old pages to new domain

I have access to the old site, but I'd rather not do any 301 redirects since it's basically my partners site now, and not mine.

Yes, what I was asking is, will the content get unindexed at the old site and then indexed at my new site where I put the content, and at that time will I be recognized as the source of the content, since it got taken down from the original site and added to my new site?
