Local Marketing, but in a different city

Hello All,

I just joined here and this is my first post.

I am doing SEO for a party rental service. I want to market their business in the city of Los Angeles but their actual physical location is in Sun Valley (which is in Los Angeles County). It's still considered Los Angeles, but the city name is Sun Valley.

I would like to rank on google maps for party service in Los Angeles. How can I achieve this? Any suggestions is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Do they have a storefront? Or do they deliver?

If they don't have a storefront then the best way to do it would be to change the google places address to a Los Angeles address. Surely they know someone in LA that will do them that small favor? So they switch the address, get it verified through snailmail and boom you have a fighting chance.

Because the other road is a steep steep climb for a major city like LA.

They do have a storefront. Most people just do their ordering through phone by checking their website. Their storefront is basically their warehouse where they have all their rental equipment.

      Thanks for your reply!

Well if it were me, I would try 2 things.

    1) Try to gain as much prominence as possible on their normal address.
    2) Grab a virtual address or a UPS box, attach to a second listing, then rank that one too.

I'll be honest, I've never used a virtual address or UPS box, but I have used the addresses of family/friends to attach to new listings, and that works fine. Its nots the most professional way of doing things, but for me it was the quickest/easiest.

I do plan on trying out a virtual or UPS address soon too, because apparently they work as well. Just can't personally vouch for them yet.

RedShifted @ Are you sure they validate post boxes? I heard they don't? Can you please confirm. I think that will be the easiest way!
