You won't get much encouragement from most here to report it because they fear it might be their site

Usually crap like that doesn't last very long. Just build your own SOLID site and walk past the other site over time.

Yes people here sometimes are in a fog and start to talk about snitching etc. Really doesn't matter though. That charge doesn't wash for most people. The feel they are playing by the rules so why shouldn't they report you for violating them.

You will never get a definitive answer for this because outside of Google no one knows all of what they do. However I think it fair to say that if you report a site for spamming you should have your own house in order.

I see thanks, yeah the website i am trying to rank for hasnt got anything bad in the link profile so i should be okay it think

Yeah i kinda of did it because i could get my site anywhere near because pages 1-10 every single one was a senuke blog post...

maybe though i should have aimed or should still aim to add a infrastructure that could have even beat the spam blogs? but that starts the question of if google algo thought it was good enough to credit it so much then it would take me years to make something non spammy...

Each spam blog had 1000 or more blog comments so times that by 100 blog's 100, 000 backlinks link juice to beat
