In December, I noticed the Adsense text ads had added an arrow image. It seemed to bring more ad clicks in my case. Yesterday, I noticed the arrow wasn't showing in my ads anymore but it is still showing on my main competitor's web pages. Can anyone explain why this might be. It seems unfair to me.

That has nothing to do with your earnings if you do your home work very well..

It definitely gives an advantage to the web site featuring the arrows and I wish to have an even playfield when it comes to code for the Google Adsense ads. Does Google single out web sites which are not to have the arrow in its text ads?

At first I didn't think those arrows did much of anything as far as converting traffic into clicks. Google released those arrows during the busiest time of the year (Thanksgiving/Christmas 2012) so I chalked it up as the usual holiday increase in earnings & CTR.

My earnings have always increased during the holiday season like clockwork, never missed a yearly increase (6 years now). Things usually taper off & get back to normal earnings at the middle/end of Feb., so far it's the middle of March & my CTR/earnings hasn't tapered off like they usually do, matter of fact my CTR is double YOY.

I think Google picked the worst time of the year to judge the difference between having those arrows & not having the arrows on the Ads.

It would be interesting to hear an Adwords advertisers opinion on those arrows, someone that's been running Adwords for years.

IMO, the arrows are increasing CTR/earnings.

BTW, I'm still seeing the arrows on my own Ads. OP maybe try a new Ad size for testing If the arrows show up on your own Ads.

My CTR nearly doubled for the past three months. I know the image arrows helped a lot and I have no trouble if they want to remove them but it seems they are going to leave them on for some sites and not for others. That's sort of bothering me. I'll try your suggestion and see what happens.

You shouldn't really bother with the arrow. It will not affect your earnings I guess.

jaymista, were you able to get the arrow button back? I'm having the same issue.
