Adwords is charging me on paused campaign

I have had everything paused since the middle of March. For whatever reason I decided to go to adwords and I found that I owe $42 on a campaign that has been paused since the middle of March. The ad group instead of saying paused it says Eligible????

I tried to pause it again and it changed back to Eligible. I noticed that everything stopped on the 17th of March and than everything started again on April 1st. Is this some kind of April fools hacker joke?

The click prices and the number of clicks times the price do not add up to the total on the bill?? The whole thing just doesn't make sense.

What do you think?

Thanks very much,
Mmfh

you are right. it just doesnt make sense. what you can do is contact adwords and tell them your problem.. the adwords team is quick with replie.

    Hi Mmfh,

The $42 balance was probably the amount that had not yet been billed at the time you paused your campaign. It should have been charged to your CC at the end of March. Since it still appears as a balance due, there must have been a problem billing your CC. You should look at the billing section of your account, you will find details of exactly when those charges were accrued.

It's possible that the campaign status "Eligible" is related to the unpaid balance on your account, I've never seen that before.

Adwords has a new look and feel with their new interface and its easy to see when the clicks happened and what and when the charges are going to be. All the charges I'm talking about happened in April. It started on April 1st. I just checked again and my add is still showing!

Does anybody know the number for adwords so I can call them instead of doing email?

      Thanks,
      Mmfh

When you pause your campaigns, they are not paused straight away, it takes a few moments for them to stop across the entire network.

I tried pausing the adds about an hours ago and thats when it said eligible. So an hour later and the adds are still showing for at least several of my keywords.

I need to find the number so I can call them.

I Thank you very much for the number but you have an extra digit. Maybe because you are in the UK? Can I drop the"0" in the front and use it in the US?

      I'll give it a try.
      Thanks very much!

For the record, can you still put +44 before an 0845 number?

That took me so long to find! They don't include it on their emails anymore, but I tried it and it still works - they are pretty good on the phone provided your talking about AdWords and not organic! They are fairly reasonable with refunds, but don't expect much of an apology...
