Think twice, if you syndicate articles or guest blog

Google has been trashing sites that have an "unnatural backlinking profile." When will Google decide that syndicating articles is "unnatural"? And how does Google tell the difference between a guest post and a paid post if both are relevant to the content of the blog?

If you syndicate articles or guest blog, you might be in trouble.

It's more so a problem of low quality articles and guest blog content with the owner choosing their own anchor text. Create damn awesome content on sites that are relevant and quality. Article sites SUCK, they're full of junky content so why bother.

    Thanks

People do not syndicate articles for rankings. It's all about getting traffic and subscribers.

Nobody is (or will be) in trouble. Article syndicators don't give a flying duck about Google, Bing, Yahoo. They are thankful for every visitor the Search Engines throws their way - that's it.

And how can Google find out whether a post was paid for or not... Don't know. Probably, if a website has posts on curing acne, funny dog pictures and washing machines, then something might be fishy.

Google are good at spotting patterns - it's what their business revolves around.

So whilst they may not be able to know precisely whether or not a post is paid, they will have a good idea whether or not it's likely to be paid, based on various indications on the site (for instance, some paid posts sites will blatantly say that's what's happening).

    Another question

    1) If I write a great post and it got pick up by top site (example wall street ) who will be in trouble me or wall street?

    2) Did google release another update?

    3) How about press release?

    Thanks

Never use syndication, and never use duplicate content. The key is find quality guest blogs that don't allow trash content.
