How do sites like this... rank?!

I thought about adding a review site based around Kindle Cash Code (a clickbank product) it went no further than the thought stage as I found more worthwhile things to chase but...

While doing a search for Kindle Cash Code I noticed that these sites came up:

## Kindle Cash Code
!# Kindle Cash Code
@# Kindle Cash Code

Obviously they are basic information sites with even more basic set-up costs but they are in the top 5 on a search on Google for Kindle Cash Code.

How the hell do these sites get ranked when I understood Google threw huge weight to sites with 'real content'?

The reviews on the pages above are not really reviews, just a few lines - then linked to the affiliate page - that's it!!

Have I been doing it wrong all these years by actually creating content!

You could create a site like that in a day with 20-40 affiliate products and get them ranked that highly within a month - doesn't make sense does it!

How are they doing it? I'm confused!!!!!

I don't know for sure, but looking at moreinfo812.com, there are a few things I notice. He has 52 backlinks, mostly to blogs (probably his), especially wordpress.com blogs. And he may have tier 2 and 3 links underneath those blogs. And then moreinfo812.com has a lot of different pages with a lot of internal linking. And he's using a lot of boldfaced keyword phrases and keyword phrases in his hyperlinks too. He's obviously gaming the search engines, and its not a good long-term strategy imho. Today it works, but one day it will not. Better to build a real business with real content and happy customers.

I totally agree with the 'real content' motto and I can see now that sites like those are not in it for the long term, short term though - they're winning - annoying actually, lol!

Could be redirects! But I wonder if that alone with just a few backlinks would get those sites to the top?

I've just found many more sites like the ones listed, similar random domain names, all ranking in the top 10 and most in position ONE for their clickbank/affiliate product name.

Shocked really, lol. But they're doing something right for the short term

I have found any new website gets a lot of love from G. It lasts around 2 weeks to 2 months and seems to follow the PR updates. Just think if you combined some good content, links and then did not care what happened to the domain?

This gets even more interesting now...

#! Kindle Cash Code – High Epc – 70% Commissions! : How to More Info was added yesterday, just popped up in second place on Google for the keyword "Kindle Cash Code".

The language is incomprehensible and has been spun to death, what little wordage there is in it.

I wonder if is the same person chucking up hundreds or thousands of these sites in the hope that one or two stick?

It's getting a bit scary, the consistency in which these sites are suddenly and instantly ranking in the top 10!

This is probably the result of QDF. Google does show new sites some love for a few days/weeks.

I am ranking sites within the first 4 pages of Google with nothing but on-page. Add a few PR3+ links and I can get them onto page #1.

The fact that the post has a Citation Flow of 30 but no backlinks tells me it's a redirect. I can't explain it otherwise.

Nothing to do with redirects. Everything to do with no competition.

Backlinks can take months to show up in Majestic, so that is worthless to base any kind of theory on.

It's pretty simple actually. Nobody is trying to rank for "Kindle Cash Code".

Google Keyword Tool says it gets zero searches a month. Zero broad searches even.

The fact that there are 4 videos showing up on page one tells you that there is no competition.

Throw up a blog on a Web 2.0 site, blast a few thousand crappy links at it, and I bet you will be ranking on page 1 or 2 about as fast as it is indexed.

Backlinks basically. Do a search for 'bacon cat' in Google then click the #1 result and you will see my point proven. You can rank literally anything with good off site seo no matter how bad the content is.

edit: Not that I'm saying bacon cat is bad content. Bacon cat an awesome site

Agree with MikeF. Very easy to rank keyword. Even the affiliate site doesn't have many backlinks. Sort of gives you an indication of how popular this clickbank product is...
