Making sense of Keyword Tool - Help Please

I know there are threads about the keyword tool but I've been unable to find the exact answer to this so hopefully someone can clear this up for me.

I'm just trying to work out how to fully understand the data it provides.

Let me take a random keyphrase that I would imagine would be searched for a lot.

[books for kindle]

OK I'm aware that I should do an 'exact match' search. So what the keyword tool tells me is that there is an average of 4400 exact searches for that phrase per month WORLDWIDE!!

Just 4400. Is that for real? I would imagine that phrase must be searched way more that that worldwide....or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Why do you assume that? Check in on Google Trends
    also try out similar keywords.

      Cheers for your reply.
It just seems like a very low amount for what I would imagine is a very popular search phrase.

I run adwords campaigns and certain keyphrases that google says are searched <10 per month seem to be searched >10 per day, never mind per month! These are exact match phrases by the way.

I wouldn't think the phrase "books for kindle" would get searched all that much more than that monthly to be honest. People are probably searching more often for specific titles or genres like "sci-fi books for kindle". Those searches will take away a lot of the search volume you feel "books for Kindle" should have.
