Any other Amazon Affiliates loose a ton of Google traffic this week?

Just wondering, for those that have Amazon links on their site, if you lost traffic from Google this week.

My site lost ranking for most of my best keywords. It is odd because, the site is a blog that is all whitehat, with a social media following, all unique useful content. It lost 75% of Google search traffic last week (wed. mar 13), and the only thing I can think of is that I have amazon affiliate links it. So wondering if other amazon affiliates had their sites loose traffic recently.

Thanks

I've noticed authority sites taking over a few of my niche sites. Authority sites being sites targeting every market possible. Seems Google are favoring larger sites over smaller, specific ones.

Still, my sites are holding up nicely between #1 and #4 for main keywords

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

Sites do not get penalized from having affiliate links.... have you been building links naturally, you can't just build links and expect for your rankings to last forever. It's a constant battle. Remember what you've done once, you can do again.

I went from 1000 visitors a day to 150. This is still the case and has been for the past 5 days.

I lost 90% of my traffic on the 6th. I had used a plug-in to generate my Amazon links with short codes which did not add nofollow. I went back and took the generated links out, replaced all Amazon links with the shortcode PRODUCT-NAME.

My site seems to have recovered, and I am back to normal traffic and conversions.

      Hope that helps!

Always nofollow affiliates links....if you're in affiliate marketing and don't know this by now, give yourself a smack in the face

    Hey Guys,

Okay so I just made all my affiliate links nofollow. Well actually, I am using a plugin (to save time), so it made all outbound links nofollow.

How long do you think it will take to for google to pick up on this and adjust my ranking (if this is the case of course)?

I lost ranking on one of my sites. Was sitting at #2, now it's at #4. All other sites and increased. Sunday was the biggest day of the year for me traffic wise.

I lost 3 sites on the 6th. Completely lost rank for every keyword. Then on the 12th, 2 came back better than ever. One is still down, but I'm always having problems with that site. I would wait it out a couple of week to see if it returns.
