Hey guys,

This is my first post here on the forums..Im glad to be here, ive been recommended by so many people on so many blogs to join here..Im new to the world of marketing. Have started out with some PPC campaigns and still looking to make my first $100 promoting Affiliate Programs.

I do have a question here regarding ranking in google. If i create a website (which is going to be my first) promoting a specific product. Lets say its got some good content/keywords...Links to other websites etc etc..Is there a fair good chance that my site would automatically get picked up in google if a searcher searches for the same term..Im not talking about SEO. I know thats optimising your site for the best chance for your site to rank on the first page. I just want to know if google will pick up my site or do i have to submit my site to google for that to happen. Because i do remember reading somewhere that your site needs to be submitted to google for it to show up on google...?

Is that true or not..? I hope that made some sense...

    Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

    No, you don't need to submit your website to Google, all you need is one good link to get indexed.

    Make sure you build your website following Google's Webmaster Guidelines, add a link to your website on your signature for your account here, and make a few good posts. You'll be indexed within one day.

    If you want to show up in search engine result pages for relevant keywords you will need to do some SEO work. Start with Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide!

    You can either submit your site manually to Google and the other search engines or you can simply create links to your site from highly trusted and high ranking sites on the web such as social bookmarking sites and article directories.

    If you get a link from high authority sites , you pages would be indexed quickly .

    Social bookmarking your site is probably sufficient to get it indexed by the SEs in a couple a days .. never had to submit my sites to the SEs for indexing

    I've seen one page sites get indexed in a matter of days without any links at all but to speed things up you should build a link or two from authority sites.

    BTW the sooner you get a site up the better you'll be able to rank. Just get some words online that give the gist of what the site will be about. Don't be a perfectionist.

    If this is your first site, you may want to build it on a blogging platform like wordpress. There are a variety of plug-ins for SEO, sitemaps, social bookmarking etc. Then you can focus the majority of time working on content and learning HTML, PHP etc. Just my 2 cents.
