Hi Guys

I am using a keyword in title, description, h1, url and body, is it over optimization?

For reference you can check this URL Low calorie food Recipes | Healthy Diet - Eat Healthy - iHealthU

Any help would be appreciated.

No, I wouldn't call it keyword stuffing or anything, although since the EMD update (exact match domain), I don't think having a key-phrase-oriented domain really matters too much. But as long as you have content -- quality content -- I don't foresee any type of punishment by G or any of 'em.

I would say h1, url, and body are very natural places for your keyword to be placed. It seems the main argument these days is keyword density. So the question is - how many times is the keyword within the body of your page. That's where you may get into over-optimization.

Using a keyword in title, description, h1, URL and body, is basic SEO on page optimization. Just make sure you don’t have your keywords too many times in your content and you should be fine. It is good to have your main key word in the beginning of your page, first sentence if possible.

  • Rudradhar,

You really have to be doing some blatant stuffing and make a page look very spammy and unnatural to get penalized. For the most part as long as you are writing for users you will be fine. Here is a good link to best practices for onsite optimization.

I’d say the reference page you provided is under optimized...severally. Wrong choice of keywords in your page title and body content. For a page to rank well, consider using words in the page title that match the page content. See Broad/Narrow Page Titles for reference.
