GWT Remove URLs - Post still indexed

About 3 weeks ago, I removed a site using the Remove URLs tool in Google Webmaster Tools. When I checked it the next day, the URLs had been removed according to the status, but now for some of the sites posts when I type some of the content in quotes in Google it still appears in the SERPs as indexed.
In this case, is it OK to submit the content to a new domain or should I wait until it's no longer appearing in the SERPs? The old site has been deleted already.
