Hi all, can anyone recommend best places to get backlinks?

I've submitted an article to goarticles.com and afterwards noticed their nofollow links, any advice would be most welcome?
#article #backlinks #directories

At this point in time, honestly, I'm not sure why you're even submitting anymore to article directories. I would take your articles and get them posted as guest posts before I would post on article sites.

ezinearticles.com, articlebase etc are some strong article sites, but article submission i general is not an effective way to build backlinks for two reasons 1) everyone can get links from them, and 2) duplicate content. The more effective way now is to place unqiue content on real and relevant niche sites. Guest logging does very well so far.

Thanks for the info, never done anything with guest blogging so couple of questions

How do you go about finding a relevant guest blog and once you find one, do you then write a relevant post to submit to it?

How could you possibly have a PR7 home page and not one other page even be a PR0? On top of that, you have no significant backlinks. Can you explain that to all of us so we can follow in your foot steps...

In fact, the only links I seen were coming from paid links on a PR1 webpage with like 100 spammy links on the page?

use your fake pr checker mr webmaster, see if the rank is real or not, don't you know how to find backlinks from pr8 and pr9 sites so opening day you get the traffic once google indexes you. you don't want in on the ground floor. stay out in the cold!

designdude, you can search Google for sites that accept guest blog posts:
    "submit guest blog post" keyword
where 'keyword' would be your keyword you want to target.

I also really like Guest blogging: Looking for guest bloggers or guest post? Join MyBlogGuest!. which is a site that allows you to post your article or even accept blog posts.

IMHO posting to Article Directories is a bit like hanging a sign on your website saying "My backlinks are suspicious - I advise search engines to devalue them".

Sure, they helped with rankings in the past, but I'm doubtful they help much now, and I'm even more dubious about their value going forward.

Rather than using article directories, it is better to post the articles on free blogging sites by creating our own blogs and to get some exposure for the articles, you can just promote them on social networking sites and if the content you have updated is informative and interesting, people will surely re share the post and may even refer to your post on their blogs. This will help in building backlinks naturally and help in increasing the authority of your post page.

That's because you must have put a link in the content. They give dofollow links in the author bio.

Article directories ARE NOT dead! Just look at Patt Flynn, he used several sorces (including article directories) for an anchor layer on his niche site and is making 3K+ a month. article directories are still good. Getting backlinks from them are not bad either. Make sure you have unique content and you will be ok.

When we talked about link value coming directly from article directories, yes they are less effective and even close to useless. But the story doesn't end there.

I have seen great articles in Ezine that got lots of organic link backs from other websites. It will still depend on how good your article is. Again, I'm not saying that those who against article directories are wrong. You don't have to be like Google to determine if someone is spamming in article directories. You alone can.

It depends on your motive in writing articles. If you only aim for links, then it's a complete waste of time. But if you want to make a product review, give some tips, help others, and provide the best information for users, then article directories can be a good place. By doing this, chances are good that people will link to your post and will give a good value for your website. However, you should take a look at the authority of the directory that you will be using. I only use Ezine ever since.

      I checked it out.

      It's total nonsense.

Loads of them aren't even article directories at all. Honestly, that's how nonsensical it is: only two or three of the top ten so-called "article directories" listed there actually are article directories! And of course that's hugely significant regarding what you can submit there, and why.

The page-ranks are all nonsense, too. Those are just the ranks of those sites own home pages. If you can find a way of getting your article published on their own home pages, then they might help you somehow. But otherwise, not so much!

The entire conversation is pretty misguided. There's no point in trying to use article directories for their own backlinks anyway. That was true even in 2009/10 before the Panda updates decimated the SEO potential of article directories.

These (post-Penguin) days multiple article directory submission is far more likely to damage your business than to help it.

Most of the conversation here is based on a fundamental misundstanding of how article directories work, and what benefits you can (and can't) get from them, and why. This thread will help anyone who wants to learn about that: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

        Pretty much this.

They stopped doing much after Panda in 2011.

Just for the record it's 2013!

        Time to update your game.

EzineArticles and ArticleBase work great for me. Don't go with many article directories. Just use top of them with UNIQUE content and write some articles each month and after some months you will see results

Sorry, but this is also very poor advice.

It makes no sense at all - compared with the easier and better alternatives - to submit previously unpublished content to an article directory. This is explained in some detail in various posts of this thread (worth a careful read-through): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

It's interesting that the "article marketing" threads in the Main Marketing Forum are so much more accurate, beneficial and helpful to people than some of their equivalents in the SEO Forum, here. I always guess that that's because the people who are making our livings from article marketing (and there are many of us here, nowadays) are the ones who appreciate how very little it has to do with SEO, and that mass article directory submission has no real benefits at all, and especially no SEO benefits.

I suggest you to post only on your niche guest posts, it's better then article submission, maybe few years ago was nice to do this, but now with all the updates have no effect

The best articles directories you can submit to (and they still work) are the ones that have not been spammed to death.

It's easy to find these, download an article submitter tool like Magic article submitter and get some lists of directories to add to the tool - then DO NOT SUBMIT TO THESE.

All of the directories found in those type of tools have been spammed hard, go for the ones that are harder to get your article onto like ezine.

hi, the best backlinking are forums, social bookmarking, guest post, blog comments. Article submission takes to much for approval so I usaually ignore them. thanks

You can also utilize free blogging sites for this. There are also a couple of social networking sites that allow you to create your own blog. Promoting the same articles or blog posts can help in building backlinks for your article pages which will also help in increasing the authority of your article page.
