This could be a very stupid question, but what are drip fed backlinks? I have been hearing more about drip fed backlinks, but I can't really find a "definition" of what drip fed backlinks are..... I have done a small search but can't find a good chunk of info on it.

Is this a practice I should be implementing into my SEO? Can someone give me a brief overview of what they are?

Thank you!!!

Drip feed means build almost same amount of backlinks everyday and not blasting links like 10,000 links in a day. As google rank site higher, by drip feed means you build backlinks everyday like 5-10 backlinks a day. This is natural.

SEO is a continuous process, and you shouldn't stop link building once you achieved your desired rankings. As there are many competitors who are targeting same keywords like yours so if you stop then you would be easily outranked. You should continue to build your links so that you can stay ahead form your competitors and maintain your current rankings.

You shouldn't drip feed links at all. Ever. Waste of time. Despite what others say, there is nothing natural about it. Link spikes are much more natural than a site getting XXX links per day, week, or month.

There is nothing to explain. Look up the word spike in a dictionary and apply it to your link building. If that's what you want to do.

But he didn't say build link spikes.. He said build links the best way you can without bothering about drips or spike or anything else.

Why do you want to make simple things complicated?

You want to rank? Go build links. Build as many as you can as fast as you can as long as you can without even thinking the words 'drip' or 'feed.'

Just create high quality valuable content and get the word out their and people will want to link to you. you can reach out via email also but again no one will want to link to you if your not providing a great amount of value. Unless im wrong then someone please tell me because im still in the learning stages of seo.

Drip feeding only makes sense when you build spammy links.

Instead of getting 500 links in 1 day, you spread it out over the course of a month. That may look a little bit better, but it's still spammy links which don't help much.

If you are getting good quality links, it doesn't matter. Think about what happens when something big happens, such as releasing an article that lots of people are interested in. You will get a lot of links in a short period of time. But since they are natural links, they are ok.

I never said that it makes sense to build spammy links, now did I?

My point was that drip feeding links was worthless and only used for spammy links, I outlined that in the rest of my post, which you conveniently left out of your quote.

You see what I just did? I just showed your your post was the "THE most ridiculous post of the millennium!".
