Yes you can have both Adsense and affiliate promotions on the same website.

You know what I would do? I might alternate it. Code some
program to either show adsense or the affiliate.

You would need to create a bit of content, but that's easy.

The problem is this. Every click on an adsense ad is a potential
customer away from booking. I presume a booking pays a whole
lot more than an adsense click.

More power to you on that booking.com thing. IMHO, there
are too many BIG travel sites as your competitors. The
traffic you generate has got to come from within.

Why not make a bunch of sub-content pages, with adsense, with
just a link to the booking, leaving the main booking.com script on
    the front page.

If not, they really will end up fighting each other.

Took the words right out of my mouth. But as they say, "Great minds think alike".

Great advice as OP will ultimately make more money from one over another. Decent amount of testing will be involved, but in the end it'll be worth it. It all boils down to who delivers the highest CPM for you.

I think the biggest thing Google doesn't like is contextual competitor Ads that look like Adsense Ads.

If the competitor Ads are static, you should be fine, then again I'm not Google, lol.

Yes you can add others affiliates on your website actual Google Adsense don't like people just targeting adsense ads on there site. This is one of the reason that some sites loose ranking or account ban. Hope this helps God Bless!

Should be fine as others have said, just watch out for sudden traffic spikes. Trust me, the Googles is watching that as well...

Well, you shouldn't post Adsense or Affiliate banner on your main page, main service page because you would earn less money from these programs so you should earn money from the customer/client directly.

I also agree with Hansons. Putting together Adsense and affiliate program will only separate traffic. I did it before and soon I realize that I lose money trough adsense because it drive traffic a way of my page and my offer.
