Traffic Generation Technique - Simple & Well Known, But Underused?

Hey Guys,

Just a quick post about traffic generation. These days I feel as though we can, easily overlook the simplest, most measurable way to get guaranteed, target traffic, exactly where you want it.

PPC/Paid Advertising

Don't run away just yet.

This is such a widely talked about and known advertising method for a reason.

It works, really well.

I understand that we're always looking to cut down spending and increase profit. But realistically increasing spending, in the right way, can have a huge impact on the amount of profit we generate.

As long as we do it properly.

Don't always think PPC means Google, so many people I speak to and see talking on the forums see Google, Yahoo!/Bing as THE PPC providers.

Open your eyes to the numerous other PPC networks that can work wonders for your business.

As always, test, test, test.

Start out small, let's say you set aside 100 dollars/pounds to test some advertising. Test five different networks with 20 on each.

See how quickly the traffic comes through, track the traffic so you can easily see what's working and what's not. Once you get an idea of what you like and what fits into your business you can then think about harnessing more of your cash for advertising and drawing targeted traffic right to where you want it.

The best thing about paid advertising is that you get simple, very measurable results, you're provided with everything you need to know - take advantage, think about it, you can say, I spent this much, got this many clicks, and this many sales. Do the maths and you've got everything you need to know.

Find places where you put in x amount and leave with more, repeat, repeat, refine, repeat, refine...etc.

Just thought I'd chuck this in as a reminder and because this is what I needed to hear when I was first starting out. Paid traffic changed my business no end.

Of course I'm not at all suggesting that you use just one source of traffic, the worst number in business is one, we don't want one customer, one source of traffic, one advertising method, one post, one website.....you see my point, more is more.
