Travel enthusiasts not clicking ads

So I was listening to someone a while back, and he was saying that visitors to travel sites tend to be click happy, so i thought, I love travel, and i am building a couple of sites, one on Hawaii, and the other one on the Caribbean.

I am mostly concentrating on the Hawaii site right now, and i am getting a trickle of traffic, mostly from Stumbleon. But not a click one.

Ss I am wondering, was I misled, or is my 30 odd visitors a day not a big enough sample to tell? Even over a weeks time?

Funny thing is, I am landing post on the first page of Google, with out any back links at all. And my on page is not the greatest either. Don't take me wrong, I am not complaining, although I wish Google would send me a little more traffic.

I have travel website also. For the first month´s
I only have very few clicks. Even few days between clicks. No after 8 monts online 10% of visitor clicks so this is getting better.

My primary site is a travel site, it is listed in Google News. Traffic from Stumbleupon is pretty much junk, your CTR from those visitors will likely be extremely low. It won't convert for anything, not CPA or PPC. Organic traffic will give you the best CTR for a travel site.

30 visitors a day isn't even close enough to give you a sampling of how traffic will convert for Adsense.

The key is that you created a site in a niche that you love. This makes it much easier to not only add unique content, but also to grow the site into a great resource for your visitors where it won't feel like work.

Are the Ads actually travel Ads related to Hawaii?

Is the traffic (stumbelupon?) interested in travel, or is it a toolbar click to next random site type of traffic, where it isn't targeted traffic?

Yes, I am getting all travel type ads. Mostly bargain travel to Hawaii, ao it is pretty targeted.

I guess it is my Stumbledon traffic then. You would have thunked i might get one or two clicks over the course of a few days or a week.

Here an example of a 20% CTR converting Adsense travel blog that I own, it ain't ranking anymore but that's not the point:

Goedkoop naar Thailand vliegen of bellen! | Goedkoop-thailand.jouwweb.nl - one of my first sites.

The kw was researched with forgetting to tick the exact box so has insane few searches, however it ranked for a while at #4 after a lot of spammy back links and got 5-8 visitors a day and made me $40+/month.

    Beat that!

About the content: Definitely not answering the question of what the people are looking for, however the advertisements from Adsense do perfectly answer their question.

Translation of the kw: "Goedkoop naar Thailand" = "Cheap to Thailand"

The ads are mostly "cheap plane tickets".

And I talked about how cheap things are IN Thailand. Genius or what?
