Help keeping Adwords campaigns organized with 100s of different domains

Hi all,

Background: I work for a medium sized bank that owns about 100 small community banks in the area, each with their own name and separate domains. Each small bank has the same type of services (mortgages, checking, savings, etc.)

This is currently how the adwords account is set up: Everything is under 1 client. Each bank is given it's own campaign. Each campaign has the location set for the zip code of where that bank is located. In those campaigns the ad groups are the individual bank products for that bank. So if the campaign is Miami Bank & Trust, the ad groups are Miami-Checking, Miami-Refinance, Miami-Savings, etc. All of them just go straight to the respective bank's home page. I'm talking to our web team about landing pages soon.

So I have a ton of different campaigns, and a ton of ad groups, and a ton of keywords - but they're all essentially the same except for the bank's name and domain name.

Should I change it so bank products are the campaigns and banks are the ad groups? I'm basically looking for anyway to make things simpler. Not sure if this is a common problem or maybe I'm not searching the right terms because I haven't found much to help me yet.

Thanks for any advice or links you can provide.

The way you have it set up with separate Campaigns for separate locations is definitely the right way, as cumbersome as it seems.

Your Locations Settings must be designated at the Campaign level, so the products can't be the Campaigns because you'd then only be able to advertise each product in 1 geographical area. So it's not really even an option, unfortunately.

The only other structure that makes sense (how I structure for franchises with multiple locations) is to make each location it's own separate Account, and then house them all under an umbrella MCC. But that really only makes things easier for billing and invoicing, not day-to-day management of the accounts.

    Hope that helps!
