How to interpret keyword data?

Newbie here!

I have been doing some keyword research this past week as I venture into the online business world.

I feel like I have some good ideas, but I am completely unsure how exactly to interpret the data I am looking at.

I see keywords with low competition, lots of searches, good cpc but it seems like it would be hard to rank in good with them.

Does cpc mean that's what I will get if someone clicks on the ad on my site?
How can you tell if one keyword will be easier to rank high in google than another?

What do you look for when choosing a keyword?

Thanks!

It is great that you're focusing on PPC and SEO as the statistics are continuously showing steady fulfillment and their effectiveness as 92% of all users using search engines to find information and 60% doing so daily.

Although there is a lot of hype around social media nowadays, search engine traffic is still the workhorse behind traffic.

It is easy to get caught up in the seductiveness of the future trends and what the big dogs are doing, but if you're looking for results as a startup, you need to focus on the things that can produce the most ROI and unfortunately, social media requires prior established reputation to produce such results.

The principle I am trying to portray is there always be a future in new things that are coming for you to be able to understand their value properly you will need to work your way up through the letters of experience and not be distracted by the continuous growth of effective strategies.

    1. Find out what interests your current audience.

It's time to tap into what it is your niche is looking for an begin to narrow down your specific content strategy based on your resource data.

I try to deflect anybody from using Google analytics as it can be a very damaging thing to your business at a certain level of growth and it's best not to get caught up in bad habits early on.

Google holds the right to source evaluate and utilize any and all of your data on their system. Although they present many of their products and services is free.

There is a price that you pay in for businesses. This is a huge one, as any successful businessman knows your internal data is your most valuable growth tool and if you get this to another company they will use it and use it against you if they can.

Google will look at your data and use it to their advantage, without any consideration for your desires and goals within the business.

There are some tools that I will recommend that can be safe and beneficial to use such as their keyword tool through adwords. this tool will give you the data you need to evaluate the traffic potential for a keyword. You will be able to obtain, organize and decipher monthly search volume evaluated over a three-month period. Take these keywords and began implementing content creation and distribution based on the ones with the optimal traffic and the most likelihood of converting.

    2. Uncover what your competitors are missing.
It is important to not only go after what is in demanding you see being fulfilled. You must also spot the gaps which your competitors are lacking and leverage that opportunity to offer services, content and offers thus securing that piece of the market.

Google's keyword tool can be a great asset for this type of evaluation. Look at what type of content and keywords, your competitors are going after and compare it with the top keywords that Google's tool provides and go after the keywords that others have not. Again, you must test the conversions on these keywords as there may be a reason why there is not a fulfillment being offered.

    3. Stay ahead of trends.
As your implementing these tactics and continuously testing the ones that work can drive the most conversions, you will want to be able to start predicting opportunities yet to come.

To be able to start developing this talent you will need to utilizing resources such as Google trends as you keep an eye on trending keywords.

Over time, you will begin to see patterns emerge in soon you will be predicting keywords to target prior to any other individual in your market and you will become a true leader in your niche.

    4. Measure the financial return.
It is important to continuously evaluate which keywords are producing the optimal conversion and evaluating prior to implementing whether or not there is any value potential in marketing to it.

A good way to prequalified keywords is utilizing the data shown in Google's keyword tool under the heading CPC, which is cost per click. the higher the marketing demand on the particular keyword, the higher the CPC will be which will give you a course a head at possible value over lower CPC keywords.

    5. Learn from what your competitors are doing.

Another way of qualifying your keywords and seeing the possible future potential is by reverse engineering, what your competitors within your niche are doing. By utilizing resources such as SEM Rush or SpyFu, you can see what keywords your competitors are allocating their marketing spend two in pay per click marketing campaigns.

let me know if that helps.

Get some relevant keywords from the Keyword tool. Go for exact match option. The keywords with low searches will have low competition and will be far more easier to rank for.
