How Does Google Adwords Define "An Account" - To Use $100 Vouchers

Like all you guys I've seen the availability of $100 vouchers at adwords on fiverr or even when you setup an account at HostGator for new accounts. These vouchers are really nice (of course), but they have the disclaimer that they are constrained to just new accounts.

My scenario is this - The same person (with the same credit card) set up a bunch of different websites that would each have their own unique Adwords account and on each, leverage the $100 voucher offer (sure, got to spend $25, but the total is $125 Adwords budget). So think "website1.com" and "website2.com" and "website3.info" and each account uses adwords to send traffic ONLY to itself (not the others).

My question is this - does this run afoul of Google Adwords? Seems like a weird gray area. I dived into their T&Cs and didn't find anything specific so I think that so long as it's just a "different account" (meaning a different login/pass) then it's all good. Not sure though and I DO NOT want to lose accounts or even get streamlined banned for all accounts.

It is not advisable to do this. The same credit card for various accounts itself shows all accounts are linked. Moreover you get the voucher if you are a first time advertiser and trying Adwords for the very first time. Once you have set up an account and are operating campaigns in that, any other account you open for any other site will not make you a first time advertiser.

    Hi raviv (and others) ...

So I sent in an email to Adwords support and it turns out, it's actually OKAY to do this. Here is the email I got back after my inquiry:

    Hello Advertiser,

Thank you for writing to Google AdWords about your concern. I'm Abraham and I will be addressing your concerns today.

I understand that you wish to know the tips to set up the account. I will be more than happy to help you in this regard.

Please be informed that you can have a single account and arrange different campaigns, each for a different website that you wish to promote. By doing so, it will be easier to maintain all your AdWords in a single account with less confusion. Alternatively, you can have a different account for all the different websites that you wish to promote. You can still use the same credit card for all the accounts.

In both the cases, you will be allowed to apply promotional coupons. Please be informed that promotional coupons are sent by our marketing team and these coupons are sent to the target audience which is picked based on the type of promotional offer being carried out. So if your account(s) is eligible for one, you will certainly get one , and you are eligible to use.

I hope this resolves the issue with your account. Please do remember that if you ever need any help pertaining to your Adwords account, I'm just an email away.

    Sincerely,

    Abraham

      Hi Icemoney
Thanks for posting this. Much appreciated.

I still feel there is a catch when the Adwords rep uses the words - If your account is eligible for one, then you will get one (promotion code)

I have seen clients who have stopped Adwords advertising on their accounts and instead concentrated on SEO apply for promo code at a later date when they wish to revive the old account and it gets rejected.

If you are a first time advertiser and still use just one account, you will be eligible to get a promo code for the first campaign for a unique site. For any other campaigns targeting different sites in the same account, the promo code will not work. It is entirely up to the discretion of the Adwords team. My 2 cents.
      Cheers
