Scrapebox - Learning Curve

Hi, scrapebox users, how hard is the learning curve? I know I asked JSPROJECTS this but do I really really need proxies and why? I just want to look for links where I can comment them manually.

And don't ask why I'm doing blog commenting....It's for my job lololol. 4 hours to find a couple links is not cutting it for me!

Figured I'd chime in for anyone else checking out this thread.

You definitely need proxies. Public proxies for scraping, and private proxies for most everything else. (Analyzing the blogs, checking PR, etc.) You only really need about 5-10 private proxies though. Unless you are a super-heavy user.

Using public proxies for anything other than harvesting will be an exercise in frustration.

the answer to the proxy question is the same no matter what tool you are using...proxies change your IP so that you dont appear to be the same person doing the commenting, especially on the same site. If the site owners detect that a certain IP address is doing a bunch of posting, they will shut your account down and block your IP...so proxies keep them guessing and you are much less detectable...

Scrapebox doesn't have a super inviting interface but it's pretty easy to master. Especially for blog commenting. I would definitely get some semi dedicated proxies if you are going to be using it a lot for two reasons:

    1) Free proxies crap out constantly so endless loading of new ones and testing
    2) Free proxies are being used by people like serial killers, hackers, pedophiles and spammers from around the world. You don't want those IPs associated with anything you are posting for a money site/client JMO

10 semi dedicated private proxies will run you $10 a month on buyproxies.org you get 10 fresh ones every month.

HMA (hide my ass) has worked well for me for my SEnuke campaigns...its cheap and there are like 43,000 proxies that you have access to...HMA has received a bad wrap as being 'crap' but its working well right now...its just $39 for 6 months of use...if in the future is doesnt work well, Ill change back to squid proxies...

Should mention that if your goal is to spam you will probably care less about the quality of the proxies

Well, even then you'll need some decent proxies. Otherwise your posting failure rate is going to be really high.

But yeah. Don't spam. No point in blindly blasting thousands of blogs with junk comments.

I used to use HMA. Should I just go back to them? And with this $10 a month or so, is that more than enough with what I'll be doing? Which is commenting about 100 +a day...

honestly, I would try HMA again...works fine for me and I have tons of campaigns posting all day long...my success rate is no different than it was with private proxies...it doesnt matter what package you choose with HMA...you just get prices breaks the more months you purchase upfront...

Just to get that out of the way, can I just turn HMA on and that's it? Then I start to play with scrapebox? Or do I need to do other stuff with HMA first ? Before I use to just hit the on button and that was it.

Sorry, but that is some HORRIBLE advice. Do not use HMA for Scrapebox.

When you are using something that processes stuff really slow like SENuke (and does things wrong most of the time anyhow), HMA works fine. When you are using something more powerful that processes things at a much higher rate and can run on a lot more threads, HMA is a terrible option.

For stuff like Scrapebox or GSA SER you need to be using proxies. HMA will cause you nothing but headaches on Scrapebox.

CleanSEO and JSProjects gave you good advice.

possibly..i havent used SB in a long time, so maybe a good point...

as for SEnuke, its hardly slow...I have about 50 sites running on it as we speak and HMA keeps up just fine...success rate is fine too btw...

im only using scrapebox for name generating now its useless.... maybe due to fact i dont use private proxies but public ones... but its kinda stupid that you must buy a automatic plugin just to use scrapebox more effectivly they never update srapebox.... and the way it works is stupid... maybe they should try doing what gsa search engine does... so there isnt so many pauses and breaks........... useless piece of junk i say.

*you have to break the comment lists into to sections as scrapebox doesnt save your progress.
*scrape box doesn't even scrape text/articles
    *error's everywhere
*the live checker doesn't work if websites are slow it will just timeout and count the websites anyway (This doesnt have to be down to proxies at all even using hoem computer this can happen)
*if you use public proxies you have to constantly turn off harvesting *****losing your progress* and find some more
*SCRAPEBOX COMMENTS FEATURE CANNOT FILTER AUTOMATICALLY THE RUBBISH BLOGS....

I REALLY DON'T ADVISE ANYONE BUY THIS SOFTWARE WONT BE LONG UNTIL GOOGLE'S INTERFACE CHANGES AND SCRAPEBOX WILL NOT EVEN WORK.....(LOL)

if you set up gsa correctly you can never be blocked by search engines

      1. Of course it's going to suck when you're using public proxies. Public proxies fail constantly. And most of them are slow has heck.

      2. Scrapebox is ridiculously cheap, constantly updated, and does about a million things. I rarely run into any errors.

      3. The link checker works just fine on my end. Turn it down to 10-20 connections with a longer timeout.

      4. You can filter "rubbish" blogs by using the outbound link checker. (Chances are, most URLs with a ton of outbound links are spammed with comments.)

Sounds like most of your issues stem from using public proxies.

Actually, most of GSA SER's big users utilize Scrapebox or Hrefer to scrape targets for GSA SER instead of using its scraper.

Also Google's interface has changed numerous times since Scrapebox came out. It has never stopped working.

I always use Scrapebox on my own IP, often it gets flagged by Google but that only lasts for 12-16 hours at most. Sure you can not check lists of 100k, but mostly I just have to check the PR of 150 up until 2000 back links and then it works fine. In case I need to check mutiple sets of such links then I reconnect to the huge wifi thing out here, got to love the dynamic IP, and otherwise my aircard will help me out

You got to love to have 2 wifi access points and 2 air cards and all of them being freaky damn slow, what a luxury!
