I need direction / focus

Hello All,

I am currently thinking about all the things I need to learn/do to be successful online. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and would appreciate your feedback.

First, here is my current situation.

I own a PIP (Plug-In Profit) website. I have built a subscriber list of over 700 people. I have had a few people join my affiliate down line in each of the program s offered (7-Minute Workout, GVO/Pureleverage, SFI, Empower Network and DotComSecretsX).

However, this list has come at a cost of thousands of dollars and the subscribers I do have open my autoresponder e-mails at a pitiful rate. I am concerned that if people do not join up with the programs right away, I will not "re-capture" them via the autoresponder sequence. I fear that my list is not necessarily targeted enough (or full of freebie seekers) to sustain my current modus operandi.

Also, I feel that perhaps the whole PIP's model of joining 5 affiliates and getting the free website is scary to many. With that thought, I am testing sending solo ads out for individual programs rather than PIPs as a whole.

As far as what to do now, I have many things circling in my head.

  • Do I start blogging more (or outsource) in order to get more traffic?
  • Should I hire someone to analyze my situation, pick the "best" keywords, and perform on-site SEO?
  • Should I focus on improving my squeeze page to make sure the folks who are joining are indeed better targeted or more likely to buy?
  • Should I hire someone to setup social media sites for me and get them going/maintain them?
While I'm pretty sure that I should do all of the above, what would you recommend I focus on? What am I missing (I'm sure it's a lot)?

Thank you,
#direction #focus

Thank you for all the replies.

I guess I'd like to do some onsite SEO in order to learn more about it. I did find a good tutorial and WordPress plugin online that walks you through the process.

I feel more confident now that a) I can do it myself, and b) it's free.

I just want to slowly make my site better. I understand that I need to get in the habit of blogging regularly to get strong content on the site.

    Thank you,

Also, I understand that I'll need offsite SEO too (backlinks, etc.). I'll be tackling that soon.

wtf are you talking about? On-page 1% ? Offpage will create crappy site?

I have to post retarded pics as I have no words to properly answer your bs. Don't type random answers just to drop your signature here if you have no clue about the subject

And sure 1% effected by onpage and 99% by offpage. If you don't agree I'm fine with that, there's no need to put picture saying I'm on drugs or crap like that.

I'm not the only one who thinks offpage is more imp, always same stupid flaming.
There's also no need to send me such pictures via PM. OP asked few questions as he's clearly a newbie with the whole seo thing, you popped here giving him a completly wrong advice.

He don't even know where to start and you're suggesting him to start building links without going through his on-page first.

And about the 99/1% you don't even know his competition , a proper on-site seo could mean half or no offpage seo efforts to get noticable results.

I suggest you hire a SEO consultant instead. Finding someone who will teach you how to do things right is better than hiring a SEO service/company. You really should know how SEO and marketing online works. This is the only way you can keep up

in the most cases, it's all about numbers game.
The best thing to do is to get more targeted traffic, you can write articles publish them on EZA or squidoo, etc.

After you get more traffic I think you can start analyzing the conversion , can be the ad copy, squeeze page test, etc.

THe more targeted traffic the better.
Don't forget to play with the autoresponders headline n sales copy.

    hope it helps.

Also read original post before making such comments...
That's not been my experience, not even close. Where do you get your 1/99 % numbers from? What's the source of those figures?

You do realize content is an on-page factor, right?

I build high converting websites, conversion rates are usually very high, I just do some meta tag title/description. Then I focus on offpage. When I get traffic from Google it converts very well.

The site I design it as I wish could be salesletter, or anything I want just that I'll make sure it will convert very well to grab leads/sales or whatever the goal of the website is. So if it's a one page salesletter I won't add content no just for Google's sake. That's why I say 1/99%.
So you made up the percentages based on your best guess according to your experience?

What does the conversion rate have to do with getting a web page ranked?

I've got pages ranked with no off-page SEO performed. Not one external link to them. Surely that couldn't happen if 1/99 were accurate.

There's really no point in arguing with him as he actually have no real clue about SEO arugment.

        Quote of the year:

"I don't need to do onpage stuff I want freedom with my websites to do what I want with them."
        He wants FREEDOM. Pure genius.

It totally depends on competition, if there is less competition, then you can rank without off-page activity so here on-page is 100%.
