SEO Companies Popping Up

I notice a long list of local SEO companies popping up every where.. I started doing seo back in 2001, when it was much easier! I had a SEO website I sold off, I am starting back and I found that a lot of these guys are taking money from clients and they are not producing, its getting hard and hard to get people to trust.. Is anyone else experiencing this??

    I think you should turn a negative into a positive. Use what you know and explain to your client via a white paper format.

    People are using SEO as a means to make money but there are some shady people that are giving the people like you a hard time.

    SEO is as cutthroat as the Wild West - one of my page be bouncing between 1-3 due to competition.

    I wouldnt worry about the other companies because they will be here today and gone tomorrow.

    What you need to do is to create a package to pitch to these companies that are getting burned by these shady folks .

    If someone said listen i got burned by so and so- what will u do to fix it and that what you should focus on as a stand alone service or adding to a SEO bundle deal. I hope that makes sense.

      Great reply! Checkout this press release on my work, I started doing SEO went no one was, I sold my website for 300k back in 2006, it was a mortgage website getting around 80k clicks a month back then that was a lot! I think I can blow these new SEO guys out the window with my proven skill set!

      It's not just SEO but marketing in general has this stigma especially with local businesses. These guys get burned even by big companies like Yellowpages at ATT.

      edit- by the way as you know, SEO changes so you might find it harder than what it used to be. Good luck though!

        Yes true! They both rip off artist! I just launch my new website and I am already on page 3 for 2 keywords, by the end of the month page 1 and #1 for the keywords that will get the most traffic!

    Many nation wide SEO companies, but also ordinairy spammers figured it would be lucrative to rank for "[city] seo service", can't blame them wrong although it does mess up the market big time.

    Lol you can't even rank for Orlando SEO consultant and then you start talking about TRUST.

          page 4 in 2 days, will be #1 in a month or so... I have 300 blogs I own from different IP address and I have 20 websites that are ranking well with 5 of them PR 6.. GO figure... Also I have 35 web 2.0 blogs that are ranking well, I have sold sites like servicekow, acmelogistic and anycreditmortgage for a ton of money and yes I do know what the hell I am doing... Once you sell a site for 300K come back and talk to me...

                You sure know how to sell at a high price, $399,- for a few hundred bookmarks, web2.0's, high PR blog comments and 150 high authority links whatever that maybe, you buy them at Fiverr for 10 bucks?

                You know in all honesty, your $399 package looks pretty much like the service where I am giving away 50 free review copies at the moment of speaking.

    Years ago I actually hired an SEO company (which is how I ended up getting into it).

    Paid them around 3k and got pretty much 0 results until I started learning how to do it.

    I wonder should there be some sort of certification brought in for it?

      Hold on a bit..... your site orlandoseoconsultant.blogbaker.com is not properly set up in terms of 'on-page SEO'

      Also note, searches for city + keyword is less than searches for keyword+city as per Google keyword tool...

      In between, if you can PROVE yourself and get TOP RANKS, you can use that as an evidence and show to your clients to build trust. It is pretty simple logic

      Actually I should thank the OP, the competiton for Orlando SEO related keywords is insane low. I think it's time to start dominating some local markets.
