I am getting around 10-12 clicks per 200-230 impressions, is that a normal ballpark amount?, should I be worried?.

    There is no normal CTR.

But yes, be worried. Be very worried.

Being worried seems to be normal.

Lol well, is that CTR in the normal range?. I heard somewhere that 50 clicks per 1000 impressions is a good amount, so thats like 10 clicks per 200 impressions, is that a good estimate?.

Ctr isn't so important, conversion rate is.

Without going into what a good or bad CTR is (making it qualitative), let us look at the sheer numeric value. CTR or Clickthrough Rate is Clicks / Impressions. A single click out of 100 impressions gives a CTR of 1%.

Starting from this basic figure, if your campaigns are getting a CTR of 1 to 2%, it means you have to check the relevancy and targeting of your keywords in the ad group that triggers the ad to the actual ad copy and the ensuing landing page that users land on. If all these are in sync, your ad gets clicked more and the CTR goes up.

When the CTR goes up, this affects the CPC or cost per click value which in turn has an impact on the quality score. The beauty of Adwords is that everything is interconnected and one leads to the other.

If you get the fundamentals of relevance and targeting right, then you should not have a CTR issue.
