I am getting links on relavent websites. I am confused on what is best practice. I have a site called, say SEO(.)com, and I have pages on that site for attracting search engines like, SEO(.)com/seo-best-practices. Should I:

a. Create a keyword link that says SEO Best Practices and link it to SEO(.)com/seo-best-practices

or

b. Create a keyword link that says SEO Best Practices and link it to SEO(.)com, which has a link on the home page to seo-best-practices?

Are you talking about landing pages? If so then link building to your landing pages is a great idea, otherwise how else will they rank? You could also have a link to it on your homepage as well as link building. For example for an seo company you could have an 'areas served' dropdown with links to your landing page for each geographical location.

Thanks. So THAT'S what a landing page is. lol was always confused about that but never looked into it. Well, won't they rank because on the home page I have a link that matches the keyword, which takes you to more information? I didn't want to link to a bunch of landing pages. I'd rather link them to my home page. Is that affective?

You can use both the ways. Homepage linking is suggested more.

if you are offering services on your landing pages then do promote your landing page but if "SEO Best Practice" is your main service then you can use homepage to promote it.
