How I Made a Big Adsense CTR Improvement

My old adsense layout was this:

Wide Skyscraper in sidebar
Large Rectangle top right of article
Large Rectangle middle right of article

New layout:

Large rectangle top right of article
Large rectangle middle left of article
Large rectangle bottom centre of article

The new layout brought a dramatic CTR improvement.

    That's great but what is the layout of your website? Header and two column body? Three column body? It's also very dependent on the color theme of your website, and the colors of the adsense blocks.

    Not to speak about the niche you are in.

      Its just a Wordpress site with a static home page. The ads only show when you open the blog articles.

          There's a sidebar but theres no ads in it since the old layout. The new layout only has ads in the posts.

            Do your ad colors blend with the article, or do they contrast? You can give me an URL via PM if you like, I'm interested in seeing what you did to improve CTR.

              I used a color matcher to match the ad block with the article background which is blue.

              So you don't see any borders just a continuation of the same color.

              Then the title of the ad is a contrasting color, but this doesn't make a difference if they send you a picture ad.

                This is what gave me insane high CTR of 20%:

                Goedkoop naar Thailand vliegen of bellen! | Goedkoop-thailand.jouwweb.nl

                I know it's pretty kw stuffed, pretty old thing that I dug up, isn't ranking either btw, but when it got like 2 unique visitors/day, yeah no kidding, it made about $10/month. Beat that

                  I see 50+ sites tied to that pub#, those are some awful sites, lol.

                    Kind of impossible as I only have about 4-5 sites on that Adsense account and afaik there is only one that is so extremely ugly as the one I just showed here.

        Dude, do you know that there are numerous layouts? No sidebar, one sidebar, two sidebars, etc. Size of sidebars, size of ads, everything matters.
