Warriors,

I am thinking of outsourcing the organic traffic generation tasks.
This includes, on page seo and ongoing tasks like link building, social media campaigns etc.

Excludes paid traffic media, article writing is not included.

How much per website is good price? The provider I found has quoted 175 USD per month.

Quick feedback will help me a lot.

My quotes start at $400 per month. But then again, you pay for what you get. None of my linkbuilding is remotely "blackhat", but instead I have my own network and actually bait natural links through content. It's similar to what Mike Anthony etc would do.

You pay cheap and get automated links from people who have read the WF for the past year, or you pay more and get it done properly and build a long-term residual income.

Me personally, if I wanted to build a business, and had to outsource the SEO because I didn't have the time, I wouldn't touch anybody offering prices lower than $500.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

In addition to what Ice said, it is really impossible for anyone to answer your question without knowing the level of competition you are facing.

$500/month is a great price for some markets. For "auto insurance" it probably would barely get you to page 10.

That being said, $175 is awfully low. I pay more than that for most of my clients a month just in content creation.

Also kind of depends on what they are offering to do for $175.

It's pretty simple: ask them exactly what they're going to do for you.

    At $175, don't expect much.

But let's say you have a great site with awesome content:

At $7/hr (I'm assuming these are offshore guys you're looking at) x 20 hours of broken link building=$140. With tested email scripts you could actually get some baller links.

Unfortunately, these guys are probably going to build some "high PR" profile and article directories for you.

It's taken me years to learn this, but you definitely get what you pay for in this business.

I use outsourcers, here is what I pay, without content:

$5.28/hr for my stellar Jamaican web designer (I know, I suck hehehe he loves me though)
$3.15/hr my faithful Jamaican Web researcher that does everything from posting to email campaigns. Lot's of "Scrape me a list of ____" And "here go open these accounts"

Between the two they cover a lot of what you specified in the OP but they still need me to tell them what to do. I also have a full time content writer now, from Haiti, is awesome for $4.25 an hour. And then my full time onsite assistant does a lot of the administrative stuff. She makes a bit more I have other subcontractors I employ on an as needed basis, video editing, graphic designer. I like outsourcers, as long as they are following my plan I'm fine.

DOlzz where does one find Jamaican VAs? Not asking for your VAs in particular but I have found the caribbean to be pretty good with writing since a good chunk of them were under British rule for some time.

and um no he doesn't love you its that his exchange rate makes the $5 into $300 or more J dollars per hour.

One could find them on Odesk, and one could lure them away and monitor them on Hubstaff and pay them through Payoneer (they are cray for that card thingie) They would most likely agree if one were to split the Odesk fee with them.

I mean... crazier things have been done

I love love love Jamaican contractors. They rock my world. Haitians too though sometimes not as reliable internet service. Same time zone, perfect English, great tech background if you need it. Just perfect. And you gotta love that exchange rate!

Depends on experience and skills of your SEO Specialist.

It will also depend on how broad the SEO Task are. Some SEO guys/gals charges $250/month, others go for $500, some goes $800 or even higher..

You'll probably get low results for an SEO guy who's rate is low per month the main reason why their rate is low is due to lack of experience/skills and ineffective SEO Campaigns/Strategies or Simply the work they'll do comes a long with their lazy working habits.

There are so many SEO Specialist out there who can bark well but can't bite.

So go for SEO guys/gals who's rate are $5/hour or above do an interview and you'll know why they are charging at that rate because they know what they are doing and what they can do to help a website.

I would personally go with a company local to you, visit their office and speak to them.

With this method you know your money is being well spent, and if they can afford staff and an office then you know you they understand SEO and can rank clients websites.

The downside is, it wont be cheap and you will most likely be running your website at a loss for a good few month. If it all goes well though, you should end up on page 1 and start to reap the benefits

Like others have said, you get what you pay for - $175 is very low for the amount of work you want.

So thats how you tell if someone knows SEO? NOt by their rankings and not be their expertise but If they have an office then you KNOW they understand SEO. Go figure.

I dunno. A business is more important than a car and I don't pull mine in anywhere and say "hey look mechanic shop. I can safely trust my car here because they have an office". Come to think of it I never trust anyone online to know what they are doing because they have an office.

Didn't Bernie Madoff have an office? Every outbound telemarketing scam has had an office with phones. They move in and move right back out. I know ton loads of great SEOs that commute and have a home office. The only thing an office would do is increase their overhead and cause them to charge more to no purpose whatsoever.

But you can always say to your friends, "I'm heading off to the office to do some work"... Also gets you away from the girlfriend who nags while you're trying to get sh*t done...

Simple. The dollar goes further because their cost of living is not as high nor is their average monthly pay which means you have a better shot at securing better talent.

This is hugely relevant. You didn't mention 1 detail about how many keywords they're targeting.

I've spent $600/month for a full seo company doing 12 keywords and all my on page. And I've spent $100/month for an individual to just do linkbuilding for 2 keywords.

I've done lots of research on their work, and the $100/month service destroyed the $600 month service. I've had about 14 lsi keywords rank along with my top 2 keywords. The results were more stable, and have been longer lasting. So I don't have 1 person do everything. The best route imo is to find an expert at each task, then streamline their work together. You can save a lot of money this way.

    For example -

You can use elance to pay someone to do the onpage.
Than use WF or fiver for articles and graphics (honestly I'd never use fiver for articles or graphics but that doesn't mean you can find someone decent if you look harder than I did).
Then find a link builder to do all your links.

But when you use 1 person/company to do all 3, it usually waters down the quality. Or you have to waste a ton of money to find 1 source who is an expert at all 3.

Thats why for keeping your overhead down, I recommend trying to find invidual experts at each task, then streamlining all their work together. Unless you can find a really talented VA. However I still think you'll find their work lacking in one area or another. All I know is this concept has served me well, piecing together "1 task experts" that is. I also remember Eban Pagan talking about this in his "Get Altitude" seminar. The idea of finding "stars", or people who excell at 1 thing, and forming your own teams. Instead of looking for "jack of all trade" experts or companies.

Sounds like you are comparing one sucky backlinker to another one and trying to draw a conclusion beyond the two crappy link builder - thats all. Seriously did you get high quality authority links from the $100 a month one? nope.

SO its apples and oranges and yes there are many SEOs that know how to walk and chew gum. On page requires no big talent just knowing some key factors

The exchange rate is pretty good here in Mexico (fluctuates between 12 to 13 pesos= $1 USD) but nothing like that sweet Jamaica rate.

For example, where I live you can buy a new construction, 3 bedroom house, nice for 260,000 pesos = 20,800 (at 12.50) and by nice I mean nice, gated community no riff raff. I'm a US ex pat so when I say nice it's nice by US standards. Viva Mexico folks

Depends what you get for this money, how can be really less, can be also enough. You need just to find honest one, this is the problem. Becouse almost of them are doing all full auto, in this cases you can also set yourself some campaign with auto link building. But if someone work hardly and have good knowledge in this, and can guarantee you great results , so for sure it will ask for some money.

SEO fee totally depends on the work and the quality that they are offering, there are many people offering ranking for less than $100, but I would suggest stay out of them and go for some quality work keep record of each and everything what they doing and try to understand the effect of that from others if you do not know.
