Masking a redirect domain for adwords is against policy, right?

I'm thinking of promoting a CB product. The vendor encourages his affiliates to use adwords with a masked redirected domain. Is this black hat? Or is it okay?

Thanks,
Amy

My direct affiliate link is long and ugly. I'll create a landing page.

    Thanks for the fast answer!

I've been google slapped from this method - good choice on going w/the landing page.

I can understand some of the reasons for using landing pages, but don't you lose so traffic? Not every one that hits the landing page is going to follow through to the offer. Or is it just a part of the game?

Some people say you can still do redirects, but I guess it's taking a chance?

      Hi Ron,

If you create a great landing page that presells the offer, you can often increase the overall conversion rate. If you build it as a squeeze page, you can also capture leads to use to market related products/services, thereby leveraging your AdWords expense.

I understand what your saying. Guess I was just thinking out loud. If your paying for clicks, you of course want to squeeze every possible sale out of it. Just seems, besides building a list, that using landing pages, you really have to get the process down to get a positive ROI.

What about having a .php redirect at the beginning of the "landing page" link you provide in adwords...

is that considered BlueFart or slappable?

so say someone click on my google ad about Michael Vick runs fast..., the link goes to poop[dot]com/michael-vick-runs-fast.php

i put the .php redirect on that page with my affiliate link....

          would love some feedback
