Sharing my link building experience after 1 month at work
- SEO |
It's been a month now and I've been bombarded with tons of work. At the same time I love it. I'm learning a lot of stuff. Moreso, I think I did learn it here on the warriorforum but I disregarded it because I wanted to go black hat all the way like how a lot of us on the forum want to do.
I like my boss a lot (the director of SEO), and he knows his stuff.
Anyways...just giving my 2 cents. Whenever you build your websites/online business, definitely try to stay organized. Once your business grows (and it's crazy this company generates some CRAZY figures every week), you want to have that excel sheet up and just stay organized. I never used excel as frequent as now .
There are about 200 employees here. Engineers, buyers, models, photographers, designers, marketing team, etc. etc.
As far as SEO goes, we mainly focus on link outreach. Where we build a relationship with site owners that have anywhere from a PR 3 and above and try to work something out. Whether it be a sponsored ad, giveaway, etc. etc.
We love majesticseo. We analyze our competitors, and we see where they're getting their backlinks from. We focus on the TRUST FLOW and the PR of a site. Also it's relevancy. And that's mainly what we do as far as ranking specific keywords.
I was just given access to Google Analytics. My gosh. The traffic is insane. I get lost when there's over 100,000 pages lol.
Also, we heavily focus on Google Webmaster tools. I'm starting to realize that this tool is super effective. Got to look at the crawl errors every day and what not.
Anyways long story short, what I'm getting out of this job is that the smallest things matter and also doing things that we've been told to do that requires a lot of work MATTERS.
I've spent a good 3 weeks just researching for links. And I've found ways to become efficient with it, but it's important that we don't get "shitty" links.
Whenever we find shitty links that's linking to our site, we jot it down so we can disavow them.
I love this job, and the warriorforum basically lead me to this job. It's crazy how people quit their 9-5's to do their own business. For me, I want a 9-5 to make more capital and to do business at the same time . This company is great. They're like Google where they literally take care of their employees.
Anyways, peace.
