One of my niche Adsense sites is making 40-50 dollars a month

Honestly, the domain has grown on its own considering I "abandoned" the project and just placed ads on the site.

Is a content site on a "high end" product topic. Is a shame the domain is getting some 600 (last time I checked) clicks a month and only bringing in 40-50 dollars a month. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the domain, I do still have to rank on first page for the main keyword (domain is on 3rd page although the first page is filled with MULTI-MILLION dollar companies so is tough)

Either way I don't know what to do:

1. Invest into the site, change the whole monetization (look into list building, maybe sell some sort of product etc) . Seriously with 600+ clicks a month I have to be able to make more money considering is a business related product/niche.

2. Sell the site. Now I'm not a fan of this idea but considering I did not invest heavily on this niche (domain+some seo a year ago) I know I can make a profit as well as complete the project once and for all.


What do you guys think/suggest?

    I have something similar with affiliate site. Making constant income of $50 for almost half a year. Tried to sell on flippa, but no luck. Guess I'll keep it.

    Doesn't sound like your getting any Ads related to whatever the high end product is, considering your only averaging less than $0.10 (USD) per click.

    Then again you said you abandoned the site so I guess any money is more money than should be expected.

      No I'm not getting 600 ad clicks, I'm getting 600 visitors (or clicks) to my site a month. My bad.

        $50 for only 600 unique visitors/monthly is pretty good actually.

          Can anyone recommend an "How To" or WSO to help me learn how to do what you guys are talking about?

          To me, $50 a month per site is great!

          If I could do that, I'd duplicate my efforts and own at least 100 sites that generate the same kind of revenue.

          I've read so many WSO's that make big promises, but none have really delivered.

          With the changes that Google implements, I just don't know what works anymore.

          Any help would be appreciated.

            I just build sites around low targeted/decent search keywords. Once the research is done, they are usually easy to rank, and easy to bank. Lots of topics on this forum about it.

            Don't waste your money on things like Adsense WSOs.

            The money is in the targeted traffic.

            Also, don't listen to the BS about trying to get traffic to leave a page via Ad clicking from boring them with crap content, traffic will click Ads on multiple visits to an Adsense page.

            Nothing is guaranteed with traffic but as long as each unique traffic keeps returning to your pages, the odds are constantly increasing that they'll click an Ad they find interesting.

            I would rather have two clicks (example) per unique traffic over a span of 1 year, than a one hit wonder that never returned to the site because of useless content.

    Dont change it if you might abandon it again. Because you might loose the $40 passive income.
    I personally would add a bunch more content, and do some basic seo on it.

    It works, dont break what isn't broken. Maybe some day it can earn you $40/day.

      Yeah but he wants to earn more, which is why he started this thread. I doubt it will just someday make $40 a day without changing anything.

      Why not put some high quality content on the site and build it out and, depending on the niche, put some CPA offers up or try monetizing in another fashion? You mentioned capturing emails, this could turn all that traffic into big cash and repeat buyers with huge commissions.

      DEFINITELY worth the risk of $40 a month, and you'd proactively be working towards making more money, not just hoping it some day increases.

      You can wish in one hand and $@#! in the other, but see which fills up first

    At $50 a month without me looking at the niche or the site you could expect anywhere from $400 on the lower end to $800 on the high high end.

    If you are seeing it's worth investing to get on page 1, which I highly doubt since you mentioned it got million dollar companies then sell it. You could make at least $600 from it, if it does have past history of making a consistent $50 a month.

    Do some analysis using webmaster tools, and adwords or market samurai then you can use that information to
    1. get more traffic
      and/or
    2. increase the click value of the page they are landing on
