Dangers of using services like LinkVana?

Here's an interesting question that's never really been asked...well at least I haven't seen it asked just yet.

Will using services such as linkvana eventually end up hurting your site when the serps (esp. Google) catches on?

We know that google hates the idea of services like linkvana, so when they catch on isn't there a huge possibility that your site might end up being black listed, or lose all the pr that comes from those links?

P.S. I currently do use LinkVana, and I so far am very happy with them, but this question was raised between myself and a few buddies the other night and got me to wondering.....

    Hey,

I think you'll be fine with Linkvana.

Reason: it's very well protected. As you know there are a few blog networks out there and one got wiped out a while ago (can't remember the name of it now). But Dave K knows what he's doing.

IF the SE's did catch on there yeah your site would be affected but with LV I wouldn't worry.

    Cheers,
    John.

When you consider that a competitor could buy links for you it makes sense that Google wouldn't penalize your site directly. However, they probably won't count the links from these sites anymore and that would reduce your rankings. How much would depend on how much of your link portfolio depends on these links.

      Hi
I just went on Linkvana and was wondering what their service was like. I noticed the price is kind of steep at $147 per a month. Then again it all depends on what the service is like.
Do you mind sharing your opinion on them?
      cheers

I have been an LV member since the beginning and will be holding onto it.

        It's safe (imo)

They have their own writers at $2 per post if you want to automate link-building. you can also drip-feed posts.

They are strict on quality (no dupe content, at least 100 words per post etc etc)

        Easy to use interface.

BUT - $147 p/m isn't cheap. At that price you need to really make use of it. For me it's perfect as I have a large number of sites. It really depends on where you are right now.

        Hope this helps,

        Cheers,
        John.

As of now (I've been with them for three months) I love them. I like their strict polices which only better the service, and I like the results that I have received from them. It's well worth the money imo, just make sure that you need it and that you understand that you WILL have to wait a bit to see results. I also recommend that you use the "humanize" option on post distribution so as to not look too obvious to the serps.

I agree with the quality of the service no doubt. I really do enjoy the results. Although I'm not too much of a fan of their outsourcing because of the time frame.

    Hey guys, question about Linkvana:

From what I can tell, the article you post via Linkvana gets put on a random site that is full of lots of random articles (from other Linkvana members). But Google really likes to see links coming from relevant sites linking to you -- not from random sites that have nothing to do with your subject matter. So, with this in mind... wouldn't Linkvana be, well, not so great?
