Pagination effects on traffic and ranking

I am testing out pagination on my site and would like to hear a few opinions on traffic and rankings when paginated .. Yukon you there?

Pagination is user friendly. It helps your site visitors to browse your site.
Also it helps search engine spiders to crwal site in a better way.

So I dont see any reason why not to prefer it.

  I am paginating 700-1500 word articles not normal categories.

  In that case i would advice against it. Its good to have large article on a single page.

I agree with arpitagarwal82, there's nothing worse than getting half way through and article and having to click through to a 2nd page. A lot of the large online publishers do it because they have more advertisers than they can provide page views for so they increase their page views by paging articles.
