I want to montior analtyics from 40+ websites that are hosted with seo hosting in different regions of the world. But it feels like bad idea to tell Google that all sites are ours by registring accounts for alla sites with the same login/email to Google Analytics? Am I right?

What should I do instad?

Cheers!

Depends on how you are using the sites.

If your strategy of using SEO hosts was to try to prevent Google from realizing that the domains all belong to the same person or company, then yeah, tying them all together with an Analytics account defeats that purpose.

How are you using the sites? unless you are using the sites as money sites as well you wouldn't need analytics.

Use Piwik and cut Google out of the picture.

For sites where you only need basic analytics I really like statcounter. The statcounter JS doesn't add a common footprint so there's no way to tie your sites together. The setup is fast and it's easy to glance at stats from a large number of domains at once.

Statcounter lacks a lot of advanced features that you'll want for a money or business site, but they are great when you only need very simple analytics. For example, your network sites.

As mentioned, Piwik is great as well but is more involved to set up and by default it adds a footprint to your sites that can tie them together. I think this can be changed but I can't remember off hand.

Assuming that you install one Piwik at each website, there should be no identifying footprint. Each Piwik installation would track one site each.

Trying to fool search engines simply does not work.
If you want an indexed site, then make a good one. The end. It's not that hard to do.

      A) what in the world does this have to do with indexing?
      B) I am not fooling anyone with a network. I really have my sites and they really link to my other sites I want to rank. NO fooling

oh and they work. Shucks just got a PM from a student of mine that stated he is ranking now for all his keywords because of the network he was able to build. Everyone who has built one has said it works. Got to keep up with whats real. Like Ninjalion being one of the worst hosts in the business.

Does traffic really matter on your blog network? I would not bother with any form of analytics unless you really need to know the traffic numbers.

If you need to know the traffic for some reason (maybe selling links)...then there are other forms of analytics mentioned in this thread. It is highly unlikely all sites will need analytics.

It is good to be worrying about your footprint like this. There are other things to be aware of, ie. I have a friend with a blog network who uses chrome to access all his wordpress sites, without using a vpn...in other words there are a lot of ways to let google know that you have an interlinked network.

Google is pretty d@mn smart when it comes to tracking accounts/users, If you have 40 sites & trying to setup 40 Google Analytics accounts & think your hiding something, think again. With GA installed Google knows more about your sites than they'll ever show you (or any webmaster).

If your running Adsense (just saying), put all the sites on one GA account, because that data inside GA, is most likely a fraction of the data Google is collecting via Adsense code on the live web page. Google is a data powerhouse, that's the one thing they know best (data).

The only reason I mentioned Adsense + GA is I know a few people on this forum are paranoid freaks about GA, yet they'll still be running Adsense which is tracking everything that happens on the live web page/s, they might as well be running GA.

If your network of sites is solely for links, (IMO) don't put anything related to Google on those sites/pages.
