Huh. Thanks for the reminder. Didn't look through the mail when I grabbed it yesterday. And yes, I got two. 2 separate envelopes, 2 cheques, but same number.

Sounds like they had a printer problem, or someone selected print two copies.

Holy postage if that happened for everyone. I'm in Canada and it costs then $1.10 to mail me a cheque.

How much money do you guys pay to cash a cheque?

In my country it costs around 100 euro to cash a $100 cheque.

And no that is NOT a joke, it's purely cause cheques are so freaking outdated in Europe that no one ever uses them anymore and that the banks don't even want to be bothered with it.

Actually it's amazing that Amazon still works with cheques, acting like they are some ******* hillbilly company.

It doesn't cost me anything to cash a US cheque - frankly I don't know if that's because of my service package or if that's standard here in Canada. My guess is it's standard.

What makes me crazy is freaking having to even ENTER a bank to do my banking. Unless I need to go sign papers or something, I should be able to do everything online.

Our big banks - at least a few of them - have "Borderless" accounts you can open. Basically it's a real US bank account, but you can attach it to you Canadian account and move money between, and they somehow handle the conversion. I've been meaning to set one up and start getting my Amazon payments via my new US bank account, but haven't got around to it yet. If I got cheques weekly instead of monthly I'm sure I would have done it by now.

Oh I thought you received cheques only once in 3 months?

I opened an LLC some time ago, the thing is still eating dust but I do have a US bank account attached to it so should soon start to use it and then the problem solves automatically.

Nope, you get paid every month - as long as you continue to reach the threshold that is. Your payments are just held back to allow time for possible returns. So the cheques everyone just got are for their February sales.
