SEOMoz Anchor Text Bad Links

Does anyone have experience with the links reported on SEOMoz's Open Site Explorer? There are anchor texts that are completely irrelevant to my company's brand but linked with its URL. When I visit the websites where the anchor text and link is supposedly supposed to be, I cannot find it. I tried to look in the page source and use the 'find' but nothing at all comes up. If SEOMoz reports there is a link with that anchor text, is it absolutely true, or what could be going on?

I'm trying to clean up bad links, but if those links are not being found, how will I clean it all up?

OSE is not reporting links in real time. They may have been there before, but are no longer there. Probably 2-3 months until OSE's spiders return to a site again.

Try Ahrefs instead. It will most likely show you more links than OSE.

Hi M,

Cross check with linkdiagnosis.com, Majestic SEO, SEO Spyglass and ahrefs.com - those links could be from a past SEO vendor's job on your site.
