How bad is it to put ALMOST identical content on two different for two different websites?

Feel free to let me know if there's a useful post in WF that will answer this for me.

Basically, here's the setup.

Site A, Blog A (using Blogger)

Site B, Blog B (using Blogger)

I write post in Blog A, and then I copy and paste post into Blog B, changing a few words, names, links, images here and there.

How bad is this for SEO? I am sure it's bad, but convincing leadership of changing the setup is a tedious process. I tend to go back to post in Blog B when I have time and I rewrite Blog B post to a large extent.

All comments are appreciated.

Thank you,

Nick

What is your purpose anyway? I don't see any advantage doing such thing...and even if you are building backlinks, better to do it in another blog platform (let say wordpress.com)

    It's silly.

    Why bother.

Don't be lazy. Create unique content for both.

Yeah I agree with Will 100% Why not spend some time and get unique content for both websites and have outbound/inbound links pointing towards your website.

If you take some time to do the work and do it right then one time is all your going to have to set it up and all you have to do is drive traffic.

Do not put the links to a malware-infected site back in your signature

It's a bad idea. If they share the same content, why not focus on one site? It's more efficient for you and you won't have to split your focus in improving the value of two websites.
