I'm 99% positive that I read recently (man I can't remember, sorry!) that Adsense does indeed pay the most out of the major ad networks. The problem is that their average ad revenue has fallen double-digits from last year.

Nevertheless, it's still the big mamma jamma out there. You could always test both and see how it goes, but I really can't imagine Bing or Yahoo outperforming Adsense... although they would BOTH be great alternatives or supplements.

I can tell you from experience with Adsense, that's not true.

My Adsense earnings have consistently doubled/tripled.

I was comparing my Adsense earnings data...

I was talking overall, as an industry, from a report I read. And I am just shaking my head trying to remember where I read it...

Google Inc. Announces First Quarter 2013 Results

All I know is my Adsense sites are profiting two/three times their usual earnings (YOY comparison). This month is also doing very well. What I was making during a typical holiday season (good money) is now my new averages. That's also without creating any new Adsense sites.

I think you guys are mixing Google's overall profits with what is being argued in this thread. Google as a company obviously has their hand in a lot of different businesses besides Adwords advertising.

It was reported last year that Google's CPC dropped across the board. You can see an article here:

Google stock drops 4 percent as advertisement rates fall again | Reuters

Other contributing factors include a sluggish economy and less advertisers bidding on keywords meant Adsense publishers profits went down as well.

Your talking about Google Search Ads CPC (1st link), we're talking about the Google Display Network, totally different things.

I know for a fact what money Google is putting into my bank account from my Adsense sites in 2013, so the media (WSJ, etc...) don't mean anything to me, based on my own experience.

BTW, I pity anyone that based their business decisions from reading a Flippa article, that site has more scams than a Bernie Madoff Reunion.

"Cost-Per-Click - Average cost-per-click, which includes clicks related to ads served on Google sites and the sites of our Network members, decreased approximately 4% over the first quarter of 2012 and decreased approximately 4% over the fourth quarter of 2012"

You can believe whatever you want, doesn't change the fact that Adsense/Google is consistently increasing the money they deposit in my bank account from work I did years ago on my sites.

Bottom line, all I care about is the fact that Google is profitable for me.

You can't compare any ppc program to Google Adsense, it pays more than others, and it provides targeted/relevant ads to its visitors.. as it has wide area..
