Content-based backlink building still works. In other words, guest blog posts from relevant blogs with decent Page Rank. Say good-bye to low quality backlinks like directories, etc.

Man, who were you hanging out with. The IMers that I know felt a bump by the Panda update, but no one stressed out to much about it. Generally, the closer you build your websites and blogs the best and most natural way, the least affected you are when Google decided yo update their algorithm.

Anyway, not sure exactly what you want someone to provide you with your thread. You don't want to be an internet marketer, but you want to know exactly what an internet marketer would do to promote a business?

Not sure how many takers you will get. You could always use the search feature. Might get what you are looking for quicker.

    Much Success,

Only the people who depended on Google for their primary traffic (that was quite a lot of people, admittedly). And the Penguin update took care of a lot more (but that one was all fairly predictable and is part of a general Google policy of rewarding relevance in backlinks, and actively penalizing irrelevance).

    Two things: quality and relevance.

A quality site with good on-page SEO, and backlinks from relevant sites (not so much relevant pages on "general sites").

I rank sites 24/7 with links mainly from relevant pages. Still works great.

I believe you are an article writer right? I rank 300+ sites per month so who has the data to back it up you think?

Besides that I just ranked a site of myself that is filled with 25 articles full of grammar and spelling mistakes so your talk about quality is also not very accurate. Poor written content doesn't convert? The site cost me $250 in total and made $98,- in the last 11 days.

To rank there are only 2 things that counts these days:

      - strong quality links from a wide mix of IP's
      - enough content that is closely relevant to each other on the website.

That's all there is too it.

It's sure not bad to focus on quality links from relevant sites and to have high quality content on the actual website but it's definitely not needed to make big money with internet marketing.

That's pretty much all you need to know about link building right now. Getting links from relevant sites is so money right now.

I know a lot of SEO agencies that are simply throwing PR out the window. They literally have no clue about the PR of sites they're targeting for links: it's 100% about relevancy and quality.

Agree, although I'm mainly after high PR links, I still try to grab few PR0 and N/A links if they are highly relevant.

You might have a few nice blog posts on your site but it's total nonsense to say that it's 100% about relevancy as you don't need a single relevant link to rank in Google.

          So true.

Why do you think build my rank was deleted manually? Obviously the algorithm can't detect it.

    AdWords PPC.

You said you're starting a business and AdWords for local search engine marketing is fantastic.

I agree that AdWords for a local search market is much easier and effective.
